In this paper, we report the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) by forced solvolysis Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O in alcohols with a different number -OH groups. We study influence alcohol type (n-butanol, ethylene glycol and glycerin) on size, morphology, properties obtained NPs. The smallest polyhedral NPs (<30 nm) were n-butanol, while measured average 44 nm rounded. Polycrystalline particles 120 glycerin only after water refluxing. addition, here, photocatalytic activity, against dye mixture, three model pollutants: methyl orange (MO), methylene blue (MB), rhodamine B (RhB), closer to real situations where is polluted many chemicals. Antibacterial tests conducted Gram-negative strains Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Gram-positive Enterococcus faecalis, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, cereus. presented strong inhibition planktonic growth for all tested strains, indicating that they can be used antibacterial applications, such as purification.

One major problem with the overuse of antibiotics is that microorganisms acquire resistance; thus dose must be increased unsustainably. To overcome this problem, researchers from around world are actively investigating new types antimicrobials. Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) have been proven to exhibit strong antimicrobial effects; moreover, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) considers ZnO as GRAS (generally recognized safe). Many essential oils activity their components do not generate resistance over time. drawbacks high volatility some components, which diminishes action they eliminated. The combination NPs can synergistically produce a stronger effect, volatile compounds retained on nanoparticles' surface, ensuring better-lasting effect. samples were characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), thermal analysis (TG-DSC) coupled evolved gases using FTIR. NPs, size ~35 nm, exhibited loading between 1.44% 15.62%-the lower values specific for limonene-containing (e.g., orange, grapefruit, bergamot, or limette), while obtained cinnamon, minzol, thyme, citronella, lavender oils-highlighting differences among non-polar terpenes alcohol aldehyde derivatives. antibacterial assay indicated existence synergic dependency percentage loaded oil. Melissa officinalis is an important medicinal plant that used and studied intensively due to its numerous pharmacological effects. This has active compounds with biomedical potential; some are volatile, while others sensitive heat or oxygen. Therefore, increase stability prolong biological activities, the natural extract can be loaded into various nanostructured systems. In this study, different loading systems were obtained from mesoporous silica, like Mobile Composition of Matter family (MCM) a hexagonal (MCM-41) cubic (MCM-48) pore structure, simple functionalized amino groups (using 3-aminopropyl) such as triethoxysilane (APTES). Thus, four materials characterized morphological structural points view by scanning electron microscopy, BET analysis adsorption–desorption isotherms, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) thermogravimetric coupled differential calorimetry. This study explores the influence of micelles on evolution MCM−41’s pore structure via 24 h hydrothermal treatments in a range temperatures from 100 °C to 200 °C. Changing the morphology is an excellent option for altering textural parameters of SBA-15 materials. This study provides a guide on how properties mesoporous structures behave according to their and contribution thermal stability. The objective this work was synthesize different morphologies (spherical, hexagonal prisms, rice-like grains, rods, fibers) materials evaluate existing changes. were synthesized by varying temperature synthesis gel from 25 °C 55 °C, with stirring at 300 or 500 rpm. results X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, N2 adsorption desorption, scanning electron microscopy evaluated. Thermal stability tests also conducted in inert atmosphere. successfully synthesized, it observed that they all exhibited characteristics, such as ordering, interplanar distance, parameter, specific surface area, micropore mesopore volumes, external wall thickness. They presented stabilities. rice grain had highest area (908.8 cm2/g) best stability, while rod pore diameter (7.7 nm) microporous volume (0.078 cm3/g).
