Rape (Brassica napus) is an important oilseed crop widely cultivated worldwide. Due to its relatively short evolutionary and domestication history, intra-species genetic diversity limited. Radish (Raphanus sativus), belonging a different genus but the same family as B. nupus, possesses abundance of excellent gene resources. It commonly used for nupus germplasm improvement basis expansion, making it one most close relatives distant hybridization. In present study, novel method detecting alien chromosome fragments, called Anchor Mapping Alien Chromosome (AMAC) was identify radish segments in progeny rape-radish interspecific hybrids. Based on AMAC method, 126,861 pairs IP (Intron Polymorphism) 76,764 SSR (Simple Sequence Repeat) primers were developed using Rs1.0 reference genome. A total 44,176 markers (23,816 20,360 markers) predicted be genome specific-single-locus (SSL) through electronic PCR analysis among four R. sativus, napus, rapa, juncea, juncea Among them, 626 randomly synthesized SSL (478 148 amplify 24 samples (R. 18 rape (B. napus), 2 Chinese cabbage rapa), kale oleracea), mustard juncea) samples, respectively. Then, 333 identified, which only amplified not any Brassica species genome, including 192 141 markers. Furthermore, these validated fragments Ogura-CMS restorer line 16C, sterile 81A, their hybrid-Yunyouza15. marker, Rs1.0025823_intron_3, had amplification product designated anchor marker fragment 16C. Afterwards, genome-specific found flanking determined that segment 16C originated from region 8.4807-11.7798 Mb R9, approximately 3.2991 size. These results demonstrate this study efficient, convenient, cost-effective identifying fragments/genes hybrid progeny, can applied molecular marker-assisted breeding identification species.

Abstract A main challenge for rapeseed consists in maintaining seed yield while adapting to climate changes and contributing environmental-friendly cropping systems. Breeding plasticity cultivar adaptation is one of the keys meet this challenge. Genetic diversity expression Genotype x environment interaction. Therefore, we propose identify genetic determinant G×E interaction winter oilseed rape using GWAS coupled with a multi-environmental trial interpret them light environmental characteristics. Thanks comprehensive characterization 79 indicators, 4 contrasting envirotypes were defined used interactive stable (SY) QTL. total four QTL detected SY, among which, QA09 QC09a, (detected at scale or different environments); one, QA07a, was specifically into most stressed envirotype. The analysis molecular QA07a showed lack within modern lines compared older cultivars bred before selection low glucosinolate content. results discussed comparison other studies methods as well context breeding programs.

Brassica crops are well known for the accumulation of glucosinolates-secondary metabolites crucial plants' adaptation to various stresses. Glucosinolates also functioning as defence compounds pose challenges food quality due their goitrogenic properties. Their disruption leaves plants susceptible insect pests and diseases. Hence, a targeted reduction in seed glucosinolate content is paramount importance increase acceptance. GLUCOSINOLATE TRANSPORTERS (GTRs) present promising avenue selectively reducing concentrations seeds while preserving biosynthesis elsewhere. In this study, 54 putative GTR protein sequences found were retrieved, employing Arabidopsis GTR1 GTR2 templates. Comprehensive bioinformatics analyses, encompassing gene structure organization, domain analysis, motif assessments, promoter cis-regulatory elements, affirmed existence transporter domains stress-related regulatory elements. Phylogenetic analysis revealed patterns conservation divergence across species. have been shown under stress conditions, indicating potential role response. To elucidate GTRs transportation NaCl two distinct species, B. juncea napus, subjected 0, 100, or 200 mM NaCl. Based on literature, key genes chosen expression plant parts was assessed. Both species displayed divergent trends biochemical profiles contents elevated salt conditions. Statistical modelling identified significant contributors variations, guiding development breeding strategies low-glucosinolate varieties. Notably, GTR2A2 exhibited pronounced expressions stems, contributing approximately 52% variance, GTR2B1/C2 flowers. Additionally, GTR2A1 GTR1A2/B1 demonstrated noteworthy roots. This study enhances our understanding regulation offering avenues improve crop resilience.

The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), is a major pest of Brassica crops worldwide. This study explores the application spp. allelochemicals in trapping moth adults. effectiveness eight commercially obtained volatiles has been investigated, including - (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate, cis-3-hexene-1-ol, β-pinene, sabinene, n-heptanal, allyl isothiocyanate, and non-volatiles sinigrin 4-methylsulfinylbutyl glucosinolate. These were tested at varying concentrations (10 to 90 μg/μL) laboratory open-screen cage environment experiments. Cis-3-hexene-1-ol, β-pinene significantly attracted trapped more female moths than controls; attraction decreased higher concentrations. A 1:1 blend cis-3-hexene-1-ol acetate displayed optimal lab open trials for blends. Among colors tested, green-colored containers proved be most effective trapping. While plant moths, signs non-target cabbage loopers observed on treated plants. Y-tube olfactometer assays revealed that attractive both male moths. findings demonstrate potential allelochemicals, particularly Key words: Lepidoptera, Integrated management, Plant-insect interactions, Host cues, Insect behaviour.

Marker-assisted breeding (MAB) is revolutionizing the cultivation of horticultural crops by enabling more accurate genetic selection desired traits. Unlike traditional methods, which depend heavily on selecting traits based visible characteristics, a process often hindered complex inheritance patterns and environmental influences, MAB uses molecular markers tied to specific genes. This allows breeders efficiently identify choose plants with features. has significantly accelerated for like disease resistance, higher yields, enhanced nutritional visual qualities. It also reduces time needed cycles; while methods may require multiple generations achieve traits, can confirm presence beneficial genes early, speeding up development improved varieties. particularly crucial in addressing challenges climate change, where must quickly adapt stressors such as drought, salinity, temperature fluctuations. In essence, represents major advancement crop development, increasing precision efficiency efforts. plays vital role creating suited market needs, helping tackle global issues food security, change resilience, sustainable farming. positions horticulture better meet evolving consumer expectations agricultural demands.
