This
review
highlights
-omics
research
in
Solanaceae
family,
with
a
particular
focus
on
resilient
traits.
Extensive
has
enriched
our
understanding
of
genomics
and
genetics,
historical
varietal
development
mainly
focusing
disease
resistance
cultivar
improvement
but
shifting
the
emphasis
towards
unveiling
resilience
mechanisms
genebank-preserved
germplasm
is
nowadays
crucial.
Collecting
such
information,
might
help
researchers
breeders
developing
new
experimental
design,
providing
an
overview
state
art
most
advanced
approaches
for
identification
genetic

laying

Abstract
Eggplant
(Solanum
melongena)
is
a
major
vegetable
crop
with
great
potential
for
genetic
improvement
owing
to
its
large
and
mostly
untapped
diversity.
It
closely
related
over
500
species
of
Solanum
subgenus
Leptostemonum
that
belong
primary,
secondary,
tertiary
genepools
exhibit
wide
range
characteristics
useful
eggplant
breeding,
including
traits
adaptive
climate
change.
Germplasm
banks
worldwide
hold
more
than
19
000
accessions
species,
most
which
have
yet
be
evaluated.
Nonetheless,
breeding
using
the
cultivated
S.
melongena
genepool
has
yielded
significantly
improved
varieties.
To
overcome
current
challenges
adaptation
change,
qualitative

in
