This study evaluates sweet orange farmers' understanding of climate change impacts on farming in Nigeria. A survey was conducted among 480 farmers across six key orange-producing states, with 418 completed questionnaires analysed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The findings revealed that 78% were male, 61% used pesticides for pest control, 34.92% managed between 1 3 acres farms. data underwent rigorous validation the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Bartlett's tests (p < 0.05), confirming its suitability factor analysis. Six factors shaping perceptions identified: production volume, high-temperature effects, prolonged dry seasons, shifting rainfall patterns, flooding incidence, poor seedling performance. To mitigate impacts, three major adaptation strategies highlighted: (i) regular timely dissemination climate-related information to (36.33%), (ii) enhanced government support through access credit, extension services, public lectures, outreach programmes, agrochemical subsidies (23.38%), (iii) promotion heat-resistant seeds seedlings (11.50%). Policy recommendations include establishment a climate-resilient agricultural framework integrates climate-smart techniques into services. should prioritise financial smallholder enhance adaptive capacity. Additionally, investment research develop distribute be intensified. Collaboration meteorological agencies officers strengthened ensure receive accurate, weather forecasts. Lastly, policymakers design region-specific policies sustainable production. Further is recommended assess long-term effectiveness these sustaining under changing climatic conditions.

Floods induce hypoxic stress and reduce wheat growth. On the other hand, rice is a semi-aquatic plant usually grows even when partially submerged. To clarify dynamic differences in cellular mechanism between under flooding stress, morphological biochemical analyses were performed. Although growth of early stage was significantly suppressed due to hardly affected. Amino-acid analysis revealed significant changes amino acids involved gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) shunt anaerobic/aerobic metabolism. Flood increased contents GABA glutamate compared with rice, though abundances decarboxylase succinyl semialdehyde dehydrogenase did not change. The abundance alcohol pyruvate carboxylase respectively. aspartic pyruvic root but remained unchanged wheat; however, aspartate aminotransferase root. These results suggest that inhibits through upregulating amino-acid metabolism increasing alcohol-fermentation system rice. When inhibited by aerobic-metabolic activated, content increases.

Site selection analysis is a fundamental methodology for the regeneration of Xylella fastidiosa subsp. pauca ( Xfp ) infected areas, with introduction immune/resistant tree crop species. The diffusion these species could be assessed by combining ecological optima data, climate and soil attributes study area, GIS tools. aimed to evaluate potential suitability eight immune crops, including Neglected Underutilized Species (NUS) drought-resistant new species, as follows: carob, hawthorn, prickly pear, mulberry, loquat, walnut, persimmon, avocado. use tools allowed integration different layers, such soil, contribute identification suitable areas cultivation crops helping policy-makers define plans land at regional scale. Following optima, which represents ideal environmental conditions each this provided valuable insights into compatibility selected prevailing factors in affected area. Carob revealed its remarkable adaptability drought resistance, presenting broadest suitability. Hawthorn Loquat also exhibited high adaptability, indicating their contribution agricultural diversification balance. Conversely, like Avocado, Prickly Walnut, despite economic value, demonstrated limited due specific requirements. These findings can potentially development strategies policy-makers, diversifying enhancing resilience systems, facing problem emerging quarantine pathogens incoming change, highlighting possibility opening scenarios zones .

The increasing frequency and severity of climate risks have significantly impacted public health behaviors, particularly sports participation. Understanding how individuals respond to these environmental shocks is crucial for designing effective adaptation policies. This study examines the short-term long-term effects on participation among middle-aged young adults, exploring underlying mechanisms driving behavioral changes. Using data from 2014 2022 China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), this employs fixed-effects models, two-stage least squares (2SLS) estimation, a four-stage mediation model address potential endogeneity uncover causal relationships.
