The integration of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials into polymer-based packaging presents a promising avenue for sustainable, high-performance materials. This perspective explores the roles colloidal interactions in assembly 2D materials thin films applications. We begin by analyzing types forces present and their impact on dispersion stability. then explore how these can be modulated through chemical structure, ionic intercalation, shear forces, influencing stacking behavior orientation within films. incorporation systems is also considered, with focus surface functionalization techniques enhance interaction polymer matrix to improve barrier properties against gases moisture, increase mechanical strength, impart antimicrobial effects. work underscores critical role optimizing design performance 2D-nanomaterial-based sustainable development.
