Abstract Large amounts of CO 2 have disrupted the natural carbon cycle. reduction reaction (CO RR) is an effective strategy to reduce high concentration . Summary Amidst escalating environmental pressures, energy-intensive industries, particularly the oil and gas sector, are compelled to transition toward sustainable low-carbon operations, adhering constraints of economy. While conventional reservoirs have been extensively developed, unconventional reservoirs, such as shale poised be focal point in future. Carbon dioxide enhanced recovery (CO2-EOR), a potent development tool proven effective offers substantial carbon storage potential while significantly augmenting production. However, prior studies solely optimized CO2-EOR production based on singular optimization algorithm with net present value (NPV) objective function. In this study, we propose novel NPV concept incorporating tax, which incorporates taxes regulated by governments or organizations, thereby guiding offsetting reservoirs. We employ embedded discrete fracture model (EDFM) approach strike balance between accuracy reservoir simulation computational efficiency, enhancing timely technical guidance field. Subsequently, compare existing mainstream algorithms introduce life cycle CO2 huff ’n’ puff (HnP) workflow NPV. The target witnessed an increase 116.30%, time was reduced 89.47%, capacity augmented 12.58%. accelerates HnP optimizing efficiency facilitating comprehensive efficient for site.
