Biofilms in drinking water systems hosting diverse microbial communities are potential sources of opportunistic pathogens and taste/odour complaints. Domestic distribution networks especially prone to biofilm formation due high surface-to-volume ratio, elevated ambient temperature intermittent use. Bacterial community diversity determinants structure were investigated two buildings using a purpose-designed situ device containing stainless steel polypropylene coupons an online sensor. Next generation sequencing scanning electron microscopy revealed increasing complexity over time. Initial biofilms dominated by Proteobacteria (86–99%, primarily Burkholderiales Sphingomonadales, core genera Aquabacterium Blastomonas month 1, Rhizobiales 3), with ratio Actinbacteriota (51–65%, mainly Corynebacteriales) Bacteroidota (3–5%) 6. The impact the sampling location was secondary age determining diversity, within-building variation comparable differences between facilities. coupon material had negligible effect on structure. Real-time monitoring sensors did not yield interpretable data. Important nosocomial (Mycobacterium, Legionella, Methylobacterium, Bosea) detected samples that absent bulk water, implying alone is sufficient for estimating risk water-related pathogens.

This article examines the impact of fluid flow dynamics on microbial growth, distribution, and control within food processing systems. Fluid flows, specifically laminar turbulent significantly influence behaviors, such as biofilm development adhesion. Laminar is highly conducive to formation attachment because smooth steady. makes it much more difficult sterilize surface. Turbulent flow, however, due its chaotic motion shear forces that are present, inhibits growth disrupts attachment; also has potential contaminate surfaces by dispersing microorganisms. Computational (CFD) highlighted an essential component for processors predict movement enhance numerous fluid-dependent operations, including mixing, cooling, spray drying, heat transfer. analysis underscores significance in controlling hazards settings, discusses some interventions, antimicrobial surface treatments properly designed equipment. Each process step from mixing which influences transfer ensuring uniform distribution optimizing removal, presents unique requirements affecting formation, contamination control. Food can improve management product safety adjusting rates, types, equipment configurations. helps provide understanding fluid–microbe interactions offers actionable insights advance practices, higher standards quality

ABSTRACT The World Health Organization calls to assess possible health risks from emerging fungi originating not only hospitals but also the natural environment. Fungal contamination in oligotrophic water systems represents a public concern due potential for emergence of antifungal-resistant strains. This study focused on identification Aspergillus spp. and Candida isolated different sources materials contact with water. Isolated strains have been tested against nine antifungals prevalence resistance these Only one strain protuberus was resistant amphotericin B. On other hand, all were intermediately anidulafungin micafungin, 5.8% borderline 5-flucytosine fluconazole, 3% voriconazole. parapsilosis sensu stricto samples had statistically higher minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) than clinical MIC itraconazole. Statistical analysis pointed out habitat be significant C. parapsilosis. Our findings show that borderline-resistant can transferred by water; thus, potable should considered as source healthcare units.

The availability of clean and safe water for drinking is essential human life existence, which ideally should be suitable consumption not contain pathogenic microorganisms, or any contamination leading to pollution. Water treatment systems are integral modern purification processes, yet they frequently challenged by biofouling. Biofouling continues a major obstacle in systems, resulting decreased efficiency, higher energy usage, increased operational expenses. Therefore, this study aimed determine the bacteriological characteristics isolating identifying bacterial strains from samples contributing Samples were obtained (WTS) at different locations Malaysia. Selected isolates unique identified assigned their accession numbers. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that these related Bacillus cereus, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia , pavanii species, suggesting deterioration quality source, error, technical failure may cause decline even if most desirable disinfection procedures applied.

The continued and improper use of antibiotics has resulted in the emergence antibiotic resistance (AR). dissemination antibiotic-resistant microorganisms occurs via a multitude pathways, including food supply. failure to comply with regulatory withdrawal period associated treatment domestic animals or illicit as growth promoters contributed proliferation bacteria meat dairy products. It was demonstrated that not only do animal human pathogens act donors genes, but also lactic acid can serve reservoirs genes encoding for resistance. Consequently, consumption fermented foods presents potential conduit AR. Monitoring the quality of tap water in distribution system and ability to estimate risk losing its sanitary safety is an important aspect managing collective supply system. During monitoring, physical, chemical, biological stability was assessed, which main determinant ensuring appropriate for consumers. The physicochemical microbiological analyzed two systems (DSs), including analysis heavy metals (Zn, Fe, Mn, Cr, Ni, Cu, Cd, Pb). tests carried out showed that both systems, supplied consumers met guidelines intended human consumption. It can be considered uncontrolled changes DSs with average production <10,000 m3/d length pipelines < 150 km very low. introduced into differed place intake purification technology, influenced final quality. In DS(II), higher values were recorded hardness, conductivity, calcium, alkalinity, nitrates, DOC. found content during transport consumer increased case DS(I) Zn, Pb, DS(II) Pb. observed differences resulted from different as well materials used build internal installations their age technical condition. characterized by physical chemical stability. Nowadays, there is increasing global demand for activated carbon considering its wide usage as an adsorbent of environmental pollutants. Biowaste rich in lignocellulose, like the cone-like flowers black alder (A_AC), shows promise a precursor novel materials. Building upon previous research and this material’s established applicability removing cyanobacteria cells cyanotoxins from water, study investigates CNOHS composition A_AC potential to inhibit biofilm formation. A comprehensive analysis showed material 64.5%, 1.77%, 28.83%, 2.05%, 0.12% C, N, O, H, S respectively. The efficacy inhibiting formation across eight selected bacterial strains was evaluated. results rates 62.6%, 22.1%, 73.8%, 12.1%, 40.9%, 24.2%, 9.2%, 7.6% Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae, Salmonella Typhimurium, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterococcus faecalis, Biofilm influenced by biotic abiotic factors, especially physicochemical properties substrate. This offers insights into black-alder-derived prevent formation, highlighting role water purification protection.
