Piezoelectric transducers have numerous applications in a wide range of sensing and actuation applications. Such variety has resulted continuous research into the design development these transducers, including but not limited to their geometry, material configuration. Among these, cylindrical-shaped piezoelectric PZT with superior features are suitable for various sensor or actuator However, despite strong potential, they been thoroughly investigated fully established. The aim this paper is shed light on cylindrical configurations. Based latest literature, different configurations such as stepped-thickness potential application areas will be elaborated propose future trends introducing new that meet requirements biomedical applications, food industry, well other industrial fields.

For those piezoelectric materials that operate under high-power conditions, the and dielectric properties obtained small signal conditions cannot be directly applied to transducers. There are three mainstream characterization methods: constant voltage method, current transient method. The results from both methods indicated increasing power, electromechanical coupling coefficient k31 , d31, elastic compliance s11E showed trends, while mechanical quality factor Qm first decayed rapidly then stabilized at fixed level. Additionally, temperature vibrators rose significantly due self-heating, whereas generated almost no heat, remained room temperature. By comparing two decoupled effects power on performance. self-heating amplified k31, s11E, its influence negligible.
