This study conducts a comparative analysis of the Bikeability Index (BI) and CycleRAP in assessing urban cycling infrastructure. The BI, developed previous research, evaluates conditions through user-centric framework incorporating safety, comfort, attractiveness, directness, coherence. In contrast, employs data-driven methodology focusing on safety by crash risks severity across different facilities. Using field data online tools, this research applies both methods to bicycle infrastructure Hasselt, Belgium, comparing their results evaluating alignment identifying concerns needs. A significant correlation between BI scores was observed, indicating that higher bikeability score corresponds reduced measured CycleRAP. highlights complementary nature two emphasizing broader insights focused evaluations extracted from equation showed an even stronger with CycleRAP, suggesting despite using methodologies, indices can yield similar results. These findings provide meaningful guidance for planners seeking enhance safety.
