This study explores the Potaxie, Fifes, and Tilinx subcultures on TikTok, examining their origins, characteristics, cultural significance. Originating from a viral video in 2020, Potaxie subculture emerged within Spanish-speaking LGBTQ+ community evolved to symbolise inclusivity gender equality. Potaxies use vibrant aesthetics influenced by Japanese Korean pop culture express identities resistance. In contrast, associated with cisgender heterosexual men, embody traditional patriarchal values, often sexist homophobic, creating narrative of resistance between groups. The Tilinx, symbolic descendants Potaxies, are inspired ballroom drag houses, “Potaxie mothers” continuing fight for inclusion diversity. Using mixed-methods approach, including quantitative analysis through TikTok API qualitative content via MAXQDA Python, this provides comprehensive understanding that accumulates over 2.3 billion interactions. findings highlight how serves as platform identity construction, resistance, redefinition social norms. Extra-curricular activities do not involve grading or credit awards towards student’s academic performance. This makes them ‘inconsequential’ to many students parents whose concern is the final degree and see as an opportunity cost zero sum activity further aggravated by universities rarely never funding them.
