Abstract Purpose The prevalence of parental burnout, a condition that has severe consequences for both parents and children, varies dramatically across countries is highest in Western characterized by high individualism. Method In this study, we examined the mediators relationship between individualism measured at country level burnout individual 36 (16,059 parents). Results results revealed three mediating mechanisms, is, self-discrepancies socially prescribed actual selves, agency self-directed socialization goals, low task sharing, which leads to an increased risk among parents. Conclusion confirm under consideration are all involved, mediation was higher then lastly goals. provide some important indications how prevent societal countries.

Parenting styles and behaviours are critical in shaping a child’s personality, beliefs, values, behaviours, affecting their academic achievement, mental health, future success. Being active life can increase the confidence, build closer bond between parent child, chances of becoming successful adult. However, excessive involvement control over lead to negative consequences for development. Overparenting refers overprotective controlling behaviour towards child when parents tend micromanage lives, make decisions them, shield them from challenges disappointments. The study aims reveal behavioural characteristics overparented children parents. 262 teachers across six countries (Slovenia, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, Lithuania) participated study. An online survey using closed open-ended questions was used collect data. results revealed that overparenting negatively affect development, leading dependence, poor decision-making skills, anxiety, reduced performance, lack resilience. children’s disappointment, have unrealistic expectations. They may also trust teachers, strained relationships. Survey suggest positive parenting skills understanding To promote healthy parenting, it is crucial develop emotional regulation knowledge social needs.
