Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), often overlooked by clinicians, may lead to negative outcomes if left untreated. In this study, we examined the efficacy and efficiency of a 12-week unsupervised tele-rehabilitation program in OSA patients focused on potential changes their fitness indicators oxidative status. Forty were allocated into two groups: CPAPgroup (AHI 52.0 ± 31.5 events/h; age, 49.7 9.4 years; BMI, 32.1 7.6 kg/m2; control group) versus non-CPAPgroup 38.2 21.5 49.3 10.7 32.3 5.1 intervention group; personalized recommendations for nutrition—based Mediterranean diet—and exercise programs). Measurements included anthropometric characteristics body composition through whole-body bioelectrical impedance analysis. addition, participants underwent blood sampling reactive oxygen metabolites’ levels (d-ROM), plasma antioxidant capacity (PAT), Lipoprotein (a) (Lp(a)), as well 6 min walk test (6MWT). Statistically significant differences detected both groups (CPAPgroup non-CPAPgroup) after 12 weeks between Lp(a) (−32.2 25.5%, p = 0.021 −17.7 16.3%, 0.034) 6MWT (16.6 9.3%, < 0.001 7.5 6.6%, 0.002). ΔNRO2 (oxygen saturation difference nadir during resting awake) was significantly associated with d-ROMs (p 0.045), mean arterial pressure 0.024), chest circumference maximal inhalation exhalation (Δchest, 0.001). To conclude, lifestyle interventions tele-exercise-rehabilitation pulmonary programs Mediterranean-like diet serve adjunctive-to-CPAP therapeutic elements.

Long-post-coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) patients tend to claim residual symptomatology from various systems, most importantly the respiratory and central nervous systems. Breathlessness brain fog are main complaints. The pulmonary function pattern is consistent with restrictive defects, which, in cases, self-resolved, while cognitive profile may be impaired. Rehabilitation an ongoing field for holistic management of long-post-COVID-19 patients. Virtual reality (VR) applications represent innovative implementation rehabilitation. We aimed investigate effect exercise without VR system assess further breathlessness functional fitness indicators mild impairment after self-selected duration using system. Twenty were enrolled our study (age: 53.9 ± 9.1 years, male: 80%, body mass index: 28.1 3.1 kg/m 2 ). Participants' anthropometric data recorded, they underwent test evaluation as well sleep quality assessment. participants randomly exercised a (VR vs. no-VR) and, later, results showed that resulted lower dyspnea score than VR. In conclusion, seem attractive safe tool implementing They can enhance performance during benefit both symptoms.

Materials Methods: A systematic review was conducted registration number CRD42023423678, based on searches developed in following databases: ScienceDirect, Scopus, Dimensions.ai PubMed, using keywords such as “telerehabilitation” “COVID-19”. The final search date July 2024. selection studies involved an initial calibration process, followed by independent filtering researchers. criteria were applied prior critical appraisal, data extraction, risk bias assessment. Results: After reviewing 405 full-text papers, 14 articles included that focused interventions patients. These remote delivery protocols, vital sign monitoring, virtual supervision physical therapists. reported improvements function, muscle performance, lung psychological outcomes. Significant gains observed strength, mobility, well reductions fatigue, quality life, particularly social domains. Objective Several rehabilitation interventions have been proposed to support people with post-COVID-19 condition (PCC). However, the full spectrum of these remains unclear, partly due complexity PCC, which encompasses a broad range symptoms affecting multiple organ systems and health domains. This scoping review aimed identify available for PCC outcome measures used evaluate them, facilitate development multifaceted improve patient care. Methods Following Joanna Briggs Institute Framework, we searched CINAHL, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PsychINFO, CENTRAL Scopus databases from inception 22 January 2024 experimental observational studies investigating adults PCC. Interventions their corresponding were synthesised based on targeted outcomes aligned most common manifestations The quality intervention reporting was assessed using Template Intervention Description Replication (TIDieR) checklist. Results We identified 74 studies; 28 randomised trials (37.8%) 46 quasi-experimental designs (62.2%). Most consisted different combinations education, exercises therapies manage dyspnoea, fatigue psychological symptoms, such as anxiety depression. Few addressed postexertional malaise, cognitive function, memory, balance coordination. At least half included required confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection participant inclusion. Reporting adherence rates limited, 65% did not report adverse events. Conclusion There is need more comprehensive inclusive approaches that address symptomatology care enhance reproducibility future studies.

The purpose of our study was to obtain evidence that an unsupervised tele-exercise program (TEgroup) via online platform is a feasible alternative hybrid mode supervised and exercise (HEgroup) sessions for improving fitness indexes, respiratory cognitive functions, biomarkers oxidative stress in patients recovering from COVID-19. Forty-nine with long post-COVID-19 were randomly divided into two groups (HEgroup: n = 24, age 60.0 ± 9.5 years versus TEgroup: 25, 58.7 years). For each patient, we collected data body composition, stress, pulmonary function, physical fitness, function before after the 12-week rehabilitation (ERP). Our showed differences both ERP on indicators, indicators. findings demonstrated between adjustment domains (HEgroup increased “visuospatial” domain: 3.2 1.1 3.5 0.8 score, p 0.008 TEgroup “memory” 3.3 1.0 3.8 0.5 0.003; domain “attention” 4.8 1.5 HEgroup: 3.6 1.8 0.014) diffusing capacity carbon monoxide percent predicted values at 32.3% 26.0 33.1%, < 0.001). These may be attributed different ways learning programs, resulting recruitment neural circuits.

Background The study investigates the impact of tele-exercise on physical fitness and psychological well-being in healthy individuals. Tele-exercise, facilitated by technology, offers a flexible accessible alternative to traditional exercise, particularly beneficial during restricted in-person interactions. Methods In this study, 52 participants were divided into three groups: athletes, women, young adults. They took part an eight-week program, either synchronously or asynchronously. Physical was evaluated using tests such as 2-Minute Step Curl Up Test, while assessed Psychological General Well-Being Index (PGWBI) Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). Results Significant improvements observed post-intervention across all groups, regardless training mode. tests, significant improvement obtained 2-Minute-Step ( p = 0.004), curls up 0.017), squats test 0.004). forward bending test, increment very close significance 0.051). both PGWBI WHO-5 scores increased after 0.024 0.001 respectively) with no change PSS-10 score. found that can effectively introduce activity previously inactive individuals motivate them adopt healthier lifestyle behaviors. Conclusions TELEexe4ALL project demonstrates potential improve well-being. suggests is feasible well-accepted approach for enhancing overall wellness populations.
