Manufacturing companies seek innovative approaches to achieve successful Green and Digital transitions, where adopting lean production is one alternative. However, further investigation required formulate the strategy with practical inputs identify what digital technologies could be applied which principles for environmental benefits. Therefore, this study first conducted a case in three collect practice-based data. A complementary literature review was then carried out, investigating existing frameworks complementing practices of digitalized implementations resulting impact. Consequently, Internet Things related connection-level were identified as key facilitators implementations, specifically visualization, communication, poka-yoke, leading Furthermore, framework DIgitalization Supports Environmental sustainability through Lean (DISEL) proposed help manufacturing opportunities digitalizing sustainability, thus enabling twin transitions being resilient.

Circular economy (CE) is a concept actively advocated by the European Union (EU), China, Japan, and United Kingdom. At present, CE considered to grant most traction for companies achieve sustainable development. However, still rarely adopted enterprises. As backbone of fourth industrial revolution, digital (DE) have disruptive effect. Studies shown that technology has great potential in promoting development CE. Especially during COVID-19 epidemic severely negatively affected global economy, environment, society, DE are receiving high attention from policy makers, practitioners, scholars around world. integration small rapidly developing research field its infancy. Although there large amount fields DE, respectively, few studies look into integrating these two fields. Therefore, purpose this paper explore progress trends provide an overview future research. This adopts bibliometric method, employs Web Science database as literature source, uses VOSviewer visual software carry out keyword co-occurrence analysis, which focuses on publication trends, journal sources, visualization, multidisciplinary areas, life cycle stages, application

A country’s manufacturing industry is often an important route for national prosperity, but it also a conduit by which digital economy may become truly useful. This so the deep integration of and can enhance independent innovation efficiencies, promote development advanced clusters, constantly spawn new models, forms business, industries. Consequently, crucial to improve China’s global value chain. article starts with analysis status competitiveness in China abroad. It establishes structural equation uses latest data from World Input-Output Asian Development Bank databases. introduces variables, such as digitization, research (R&D) investment, industrial scale empirically analyze industry’s chain (GVC). The results show that digitization increase forward participation GVC division GVCs. Analyses suggest due insufficient R&D investment labor GVCs, prone low-end lock-in, inefficient structures, weak ability. following suggestions are proposed: needs accelerate transformation, actively participate core competitiveness.

Abstract Automakers' transition from a linear economy to circular (CE) in response sustainable development‐oriented regulatory and competitive pressures is challenging process that requires innovative, practical technologies. However, Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies are an important part of the CE for environmentally friendly companies. In this study, we examine whether pressure (RP) (CP) toward sustainability motivate firms implement I4.0 CE, along with mediating effects environmental orientation (EO). PLS‐SEM via SmartPLS software was used analyze data 230 managers automotive auto component manufacturing industries India. The findings study showed RP CP positively influence adoption, which impacts capability. Furthermore, EO partially mediates relationship between As implementation contribute development, need deal effectively CP. Several implications theory practice discussed at end study.

Energy transition is blurring the boundaries between demand and supply sides with growing participation of prosumer resources. The intensifying pace electrification digitalization during past decade tends to continue, leading potential techno-economic-social challenges in energy strategy. However, it remains difficult quantify their impacts on a national-level system, due trade-offs increasing applications decreasing consumption thanks efficiency improvement. Using Switzerland as case study, this work unveils combined effects (a) macro-economic drivers, (b) climate temperature rise, (c) system optimization, (d) digitalization, end-use final four major sectors, considering: industry, residence, mobility, services. A systematic bottom-up top-down approach was adopted, taking into account historical data by sector. results show that: (1) overall electricity increase 20%–32%, while fuel drops 38%–95%, (2) total reduction 16%–59%, including contribution from 10%–30%. (3) ICT (Information Communication Technologies) likely become increasingly intensive, accounting for 25%–35% consumption, but can play an energy-supplying role through (4) center heat recovery, promising cut 15% national heating demand. Finally, study highlights importance early planning investment decision operation accommodate development order meet carbon neutrality target 2050.
