The overall objective of this present research is assessment rice-water requirement in Cyabayaga wetland Nyagatare District Rwanda. Specific objectives project were to collect and analyze weather parameters, soil physical properties, crop-water requirements recommend efficient water management the study area. Research design, data collection field observations made during July, 2019 January, 2020. experiment was carried out marshland especially based on rice requirement, parameters hydraulic like measurement infiltration rate, conductivity, flow discharge irrigation channels, loss, conveyance efficiency application efficiency. Evapotranspiration needs determined by Cropwat 8.0 software. Conveyance (Ec) found be 70.05% 30% lost through seepage evapotranspiration weeds unlined channels. deep percolation, losses 25 mm/day. Considering highest potential crop (ETc) 4.8 mm, it indicated that huge loss 20.2 mm/day caused percolation within soil. (Ea) 23.8%. Hence, 16.7%. With current yield 4.25 t/ha, a low water-use-efficiency 0.089 kg/m3 found.   Key words: Cropwater requirements, rice, use Cropwat.

The objective of this review was to look at the impact agricultural value chain financing on profitability edible oil in South Africa. A historical review's aim is find all narrative evidence which fits pre-specified eligibility requirements respond a particular study question or hypothesis. research used as its analysis method. This included compiling and analysing more than 60 online resources relating various relevant from several past research. concentrates some papers that looked profitability, both nationally internationally. Exploratory studies financing, published 2012 2022, were evaluated. According findings, just one paper failed demonstrate an important association between whilst others showed had substantial effect profitability. However, none specifically addressed industry, indicating necessity for examine link among funding African industry.

Purpose Empirical evidence abounds on the individual effect of financial development and remittances agricultural production, but little is known about their complementary role, especially in context African countries. This study fills this knowledge gap by examining moderating role production–remittance nexus Africa. Design/methodology/approach Different measures were employed, panel quantile regression model was adopted to analyse data 33 countries covering period 2005–2020. Findings The results indicate that effects production vary across quantiles, dynamics are sensitive choice indicator. Nevertheless, highly indispensable for improved Africa, as complements positive production. Practical implications need strengthen sector facilitate effective mobilization other resources investment improvement sector’s productivity. Originality/value To best our knowledge, first documents empirical

Over the past two decades, Rwanda has positioned itself as a leading producer of specialty coffee. The strategic move from ordinary to coffee overall been economically beneficial country. However, multitude incentives provided by both Government and international donors spawned rush build large number washing stations (CWS) throughout Rwanda. This trend gave rise an oversupply these plants, with most operating below their processing capacity. Our study uses cost benefit analysis estimate economic welfare loss that suffered owing combined effect CWS, zoning policy, government regulated cherry prices. results reveal that, if industry were rendered more competitive dint reduction in then annual savings would be substantial. Furthermore, farmers could potentially receive prices are 150% higher than mandated fixed they currently paid. Rwandese policy makers devising fairer keep interested farming, thus ensuring sustainability value chain long term.

Bush bean is an important pulse crop that enriches the Rwandan diet and a source of cash. This staple widely grown in Rwanda. However, improper spacing inadequate application rates organic inputs result low yields. The purpose this study was to evaluate effect intra-row-spacing pymarc rate on selected soil chemical parameters bush (Phaseolus Vulgaris L) yield andosol under rainfed conditions. experiment included five with four replications randomized complete block design: P0(No fertilizer), P1(250 kg ha-1 NPK), P2(10 t + 250 Kg P3(15 NPK) P4(20 3 levels: S1(40 cm x 15 cm), S2(40 20 cm) S3(40 30 cm). results indicated significant difference found between treatments their interactions except for pH (p<0.05). Regarding treatments, P4 contained greater amounts C(5.30 %), total N(0.30 available P(56.70 ppm), K(81.30 mg dm-3), exchangeable Ca(12.61 Cmol Kg-1) Mg(5.0 at harvesting compared P0 P1. According plant spacing, S3 held higher OC(4.85 av. P(55.15 K(60.94 exch. Ca(11.0 Mg(3.6 than S1. There interaction measured properties pH. correlation analysis nutrients positive, highly (p<0.01), varied from moderate strong (0.4<r<0.7 r>0.7) treatment highest P2S1 3.03 therefore it can be recommended farmers volcanic highland region.
