Economic Consequences of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Will It Be a Barrier to Achieving Sustainability?

This study quantitatively analyzes the economic impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis on Korea and other major nations using standard Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model. Based GTAP9a database, we created three scenarios that differed in severity COVID-19, divided shocks witnessed each scenario into stages, applied them at varying degrees to six regions 10 industry sectors. The results revealed an increase investments a decrease GDP, income, production, exports, with private household expenditure export value showing largest declines all regions. Under Scenario BA, tourism decreased by approximately 28%, imports declined 33.4% average across Conversely, government increased following recession tax revenue. showed similar trends sectors, only slight variances according region’s structural characteristics. By shedding light proposals approaches overcome global amid ongoing pandemic, this provides baseline data for devising more practical, detailed response plans policy directions potential future calamities.

Accounting Quality and Audit Attributes on the Stock Price Crashes in an Emerging Market

This study addresses the relationship between accounting quality and audit attributes (i.e., quality, auditor industry specialization, concentration, fees) with companies’ SPCRs listed on Iraqi Stock Exchange. A multivariate regression model was used to test hypotheses. The research hypotheses were tested using a sample of 210 observations firms from 2013 2018 multiple based random-effects model’s panel data technique. findings indicate negative significant audit, specialization SPCRs. Results also conveyed meaningful positive association stock price crash risk (SPCR) fees. results did not confirm corporate governance concentration SPCR. primary additional methods (t + 1, fixed effects, ordinary least squares). Market Efficiency and Stock Investment Loss Aversion Guide During COVID-19 Pandemic Events: The Case for Applying Data Mining

This study explores the late coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, particularly, 2022Q1 to 2022Q3, analyze stock returns of industries expected have a direct impact. The aim is identify factors influencing and provide investment strategies, focusing on risk control (loss aversion). A total 193 common stocks listed Taiwanese market were collected from four major industries: sports, restaurants, biotechnology, epidemic prevention. Using past information set (2021Q4): variables in three dimensions—firm characteristics, financial indicators, corporate governance—are used construct strategy model. Empirical evidence shows existence differences advantages some firm characteristics lack prevention 2020. decision-tree model has precision 79.4% an accuracy 72.0%. five most important affecting are value, cash flow adequacy ratio, return assets, Tobin’s Q, price/book value. scheme inducting types losses (loser) one type profit (winner) summarized for reference. Second, it confirms correlation between sets returns, suggesting that Taiwan’s was inefficient during stage COVID-19 pandemic. Heterogeneous macroeconomic factors’ effects on stocks across sizes, styles, and sectors in the South Korean market

Effects of incentive-based population policies on sustainability of China’s recent maternity insurance system reform: a system dynamics simulation
