Critical measures for the prevention and control of respiratory infectious diseases in the workplace: a South African facilities management perspective

Purpose This study aims to comprehensively examine the respiratory infection prevention and control measures used in South African workplaces, particularly context of facilities management (FM), during 2020–2022 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach The present research involved pre-crafted semi-structured interviews conducted by University Witwatersrand students with FM heads Johannesburg, Africa. Recurrent themes were generated using NVIVO software analysed frequencies, word counts clouds. Findings identified 119 placed these into two broad categories. Twelve critical found. These further validated five experts, separate from heads, who cross-referenced them WHO guidelines, enhancing credibility findings. Subsequently, challenges implementing explored. Background: The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which has impacted the world of work, necessitated work organizations to prevent transmission and enhance workers’ performance. Purpose: To find out implementation occupational health safety management during COVID-19 pandemic across various corporate sectors. Review: It was conducted by answering research questions related practices in workplace pandemic. process involved formulating problem based on PICOS framework. After filtering adjusting variables, 21 articles were analyzed, consisting 12 from ProQuest database 9 ScienceDirect database. Result: Various innovations have been made companies so that Occupational Health Safety (OHS) management, especially protocols dealing with COVID-19, can run optimally. Among them is an increasing number training sessions for workers awareness, redesigning workplaces according standards, using smart technology detect social distancing violations, improving dialogic communication. Such improvements proven increase communal relations between thereby active worker participation establishing a safe working culture within workplace. Model of protective behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia

To prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from spreading extensively and rapidly during the pandemic, protective behaviors are crucial. This study aimed to determine influence of risk perceptions, health care, social influences, intentions on improvement COVID-19 pandemic. There were 325 participants consisting 74 men 251 women (mean age (M)=21.47, SD=6.8). Based previous studies, measurements conducted using a variety questionnaires. This study explores the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on formal and informal workers in Indonesian construction industry.
