Agricultural irrigation is essential for crop growth and yield, but traditional systems are often associated with high costs, energy consumption, negative environmental impacts. The development of alternative systems, such as solar-powered has gained increasing attention in recent years. In this study, a techno-economic analysis grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) system was carried out the electrical needed an agricultural area located Konya, Turkiye. produced by used to meet needs equipment water pumping required irrigation. According simulation results, annual requirement 6,735 kWh peak load 2.1 kW. addition, line PV can feed self-consumption 15.9%, self-sufficiency level 46.6% performance rate 83% when desired set 115% year reference period. When financial examined, it estimated (or computed) that asset return 9.14% depreciation period 8.7 gain loss due shading 1.5% CO2 emission prevented 9.201 kg. Considering these could be stated proposed technically economically appropriate systems. At same time, results might provide valuable insights farmers policymakers seeking adopt sustainable cost-effective production.

Solar irrigation systems are sustainable practices that can improve the well-being of local communities and enhance resilience agriculture to climate change while reducing environmental impacts. Due its high investment cost, small-scale farmers inclined use traditional fossil-based harm humans environment. This study aims analyze impacts, economic feasibility, social acceptability shifting agricultural from diesel-fueled solar systems. Taking perspective Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, results found system has a higher initial but lower maintenance operational costs. These resulted in an attractive feasibility project with Php 19,693 fuel cost savings per hectare year, net present value 10,214 hectare, payback period 8.27 years, returns on at 110%. Additionally, significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions diesel 199.78 CO2 eq/ha/yr, avoids air pollutant 14.91 g/ha/yr particulate matter, 2.98 nitrogen oxides,193.82 sulfur oxides, 149.09 carbon monoxide. Despite lack in-depth awareness, interested investing 68% acceptability. Results provide bases for recommendations promoting more human ecologically Philippines other developing countries.

The focus on food supply chain (FSC) sustainability has grown due to demand, loss and waste, environmental impacts. This study aims quantify citrus life cycle costs (LCC) determine the main drivers their contributions. LCC was used assess cradle-to-grave cost of 1 kg sold consumers at retailer stage. A comparison made between an existing (SC) a proposed closed-loop structure. In addition current SC, four different cases were analyzed evaluated: centralized linear SC with 33% increase in labor income, income. results showed significant reductions functional unit's (FU) 48%, 38%, 54%, 44%, respectively, compared SC. Labor accounted for 47-62% FU costs, while agriculture inputs transportation contributed 15-28% 12-16%, respectively. revealed that improves economic viability, especially when recycling waste as compost farms. Transportation currently contributes most (45%), but becomes highest contributor (62%). approach identifies contributions FU's showcasing differences integrating circular economy. Future research may explore impact other byproducts costs.

<p>Solar power is at the forefront of sustainable development discussions due to global movement toward renewable energy. In Bangladesh, where agriculture vital economy, irrigation crucial. This thesis investigates economic viability and socio-economic acceptability solar-powered systems (SPIS) in Bogra, Bangladesh. Several approaches have been proposed make solar Bangladesh more profitable. High-value crops like summer tomatoes hybrid vegetables highlight benefits increased profitability systems. Furthermore, it imperative decrease expenses associated with these Partnering government agencies equipment affordable accessible can achieve this goal. Researching new methods localized production also lower panel prices. A collaborative technique between marginal large-scale farmers help small-scale afford by distributing costs fairly. Government backing, expanded R&amp;D, manufacture, training, subsidies become economically sustainable. To improve acceptability, must be promoted communicated. Abstract Water management in irrigated agriculture, aiming for the sustainability of activity, faces significant challenges a scenario water scarcity, associated with high electricity costs pump operation and irrigation rights. This study evaluated effects different techniques on beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) productivity quality controlled environment. Climate-based methods (weather station, evaporation pan), soil-based (capacitive moisture sensors, tensiometry), commercial were compared, revealing variability applied (132–408 mm), yield (53–88 tons ha− 1), use efficiency (20.4–45.2 kg m− 3). Soil-based methods, particularly SoilWatch sensor, resulted highest quality, while tensiometry demonstrated superior efficiency. showed potential but required precise parameter calibration. The method, productive, exhibited lower its default settings. underscores importance integrating real-time soil monitoring optimal cultivation, emphasizing need to tailor strategies based specific crop environmental conditions.
