Innovation serves as a vital catalyst for sustainable urban development, with the enhancement of innovation efficiency representing critical strategy to bolster cities’ innovative capacity. Rigorous scientific measurement and thorough investigation into key factors influencing it are imperative advancing Despite this significance, prior research has largely overlooked impact connections on efficiency. Therefore, paper undertakes task measuring 27 cities within China’s Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region using an improved DEA model, while also examining associated factors. The primary findings follows: (1) comprehensive in YRD remains relatively low, pure technical notable constraint, scale demonstrates higher overall performance. (2) can be classified four distinct categories: innovation-leading, innovation-optimizing, innovation-breaking, innovation-improving cities. (3) exhibits negative spatial spillover effects. (4) And notably, local economic social characteristics such human capital degree openness play positive role enhancing Conversely, foundation government involvement exhibit contributions Additionally, population mobility between is identified significant contributor This study sheds light complex dynamics shaping underscores importance leveraging capacity beyond.

Introduction: Behind China’s booming economy lies a series of environmental and resource consumption issues. After continuous research exploration, scholars generally agree that green innovation is crucial way to solve this problem. As the core regions economic development, studying level three major urban agglomerations can help understand progress in area. It provide beneficial experience inspiration for other formulation relevant policies future. Methods: This paper selects panel data 40 cities Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH), Yangtze River Delta (YRD), Pearl (PRD) from 2010 2020 as object. The super-efficiency SBM (slack-based measure) model Malmquist-Luenberger (ML) index are used measure efficiency (GIE) its dynamic evolution rules, Tobit regression constructed analyze influencing factors GIE. Results: PRD agglomeration has highest GIE level, while BTH YRD shifted around 2015. Technical technological together lead increased GIE, with having higher impact than technical efficiency. coefficients urbanization industrial structure, science technology 0.0078, 0.0071, 0.0616, respectively, significantly promoting development foreign direct investment, regulations, SO 2 emissions −0.2198, −0.1163, −0.005, −0.011, inhibiting coefficient vegetation cover 0.0228 no significant effect on Conclusions: overall relatively high. Still, there spatial variability among different cities, accompanied by phenomenon two-level differentiation. study suggests improving requires enhanced interventions at both city factors. enriches theoretical results meso-level provides guidance practical directions agglomerations, achieving peaking carbon neutrality, high-quality development.

Abstract Growing consciousness about sustainability and the onset of digital era have affected corporate environmental, social, governance (ESG) outcomes to forefront new debates. This article attempts use statistical analysis software such as Stata explore relevant issues. A-share listed firms in Shanghai Shenzhen between 2006 2022 are examined this research for sake exploring how digitalization businesses affects ESG ratings. Findings suggest a positive correlation initiatives metrics improvements. These findings consistent even after multiple robustness checks. Additionally, delves into mechanisms driving primary relationship, discovering that advances enhance scores by easing financial limitations, diminishing information disparities, bolstering technological innovation. further reveals variable impacts based on firm size geographical location.
