Abstract This study reviews the literature published between 2013 and 2023 to comprehensively understand consequences of adopting climate-smart agricultural (CSA) practices. We categorize into three categories based on scopes agriculture: (a) sustainably increase productivity incomes; (b) adapt build resilience people agrifood systems climate change; (c) reduce or where possible, avoid greenhouse gas emissions. The review demonstrates that CSA practices, in many instances, improves farm incomes. manifests increasing crop yields productivity, income profitability, technical resource use efficiency. Moreover, practices reinforces farmers by promoting food consumption, dietary diversity, security mitigating production risks vulnerabilities. Adopting is environmentally feasible as it reduces emissions soil quality. An integrative strategy encompassing diverse portends an optimized avenue chart a trajectory towards fortified against climatic change.

The impact of nature-based solutions on human health is increasingly recognised; however, our understanding the strength evidence and extent to which it supports policy practice insufficient. We aimed assess wellbeing impacts in low-income middle-income settings trees are a central feature protection, restoration, sustainable management landscapes. For this systematic review meta-analysis, we searched Web Science, Embase, APA PsycInfo, MEDLINE ALL, Global Health, Index Medicus, GreenFILE, SciELO, EconLit, Africa-Wide Information for studies that evaluated relevant interventions wellbeing. Searches were limited records published from Jan 1, 2000, search date; an initial was conducted Nov 23, 2021, updated Feb 27-28, 2023. extracted data comparing with matched controls, calculated standardised mean differences, pooled effects using random-effects meta-analysis adjustments potential effect dependence. Studies assessed quality seven risk-of-bias domains. Our identified 23 402 studies, 54 included meta-analysis. found significant positive agricultural yields (standardised difference 0·41 [95% CI 0·11 0·70]), dietary diversity (0·10 [0·02 0·18]), total household income (0·21 [0·09 0·33]), poverty reduction (0·17 [0·07 0·27]), child growth (0·11 [0·00 0·22]), self-reported 0·43]). Loss timber production could be negative outcome (-0·13 [-0·29 0·02]); these might partially offset by increased non-timber forest products (0·32 [0·04 0·61]). Effects varied substantially intervention type, more associated primary target livelihood improvement than targeted biodiversity or carbon mitigation. However, cautious interpretation urged owing low certainty evidence. In conclusion, suggests tree-based can support implementing communities. Such strengthens case aligning objectives goals making community integral component conservation programmes. Future should examine wider range outcomes have direct relevance health.

Introduction The objective of this study was to analyze how innovations in Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) contribute improving the food and nutrition security smallholder households, thereby promoting sustainable systems. Methods A cross-sectional household survey conducted among a multi-stage sample 424 farmers drawn from five different agroecosystems. To examine households’ security, we used consumption score (FCS) modified dietary diversity (HDDS) propensity matching (PSM) endogenous switching regression (ESR) estimation models. Results PSM results showed that crop residue management, compost, agroforestry have significant effect on by 21.3, 13.6, 16.6%, respectively, whereas Soil water conservation (SWC) has reduced adopters’ 12.9%. However, conditional average treatment effect, or ESR result, reveals improved as result adoption SWC, agroforestry. Discussion Although impact is positive, SWC been inconclusive. Hence, it important upscale multiple CSA improve household’s face climate change.

A comprehensive understanding of the impact land fragmentation on collective action is essential for rural governance in developing countries. Prior publications have argued that impedes sustainable development agricultural economies and societies, while connection between humans nature has not been considered comprehensively. Therefore, conclusion purely negative may be one-sided. To examine this conclusion, paper re-evaluates relationship from a multidisciplinary perspective. Based field survey using stratified random sampling, Oprobit regression was employed to conduct an econometric analysis data 798 households across 14 cities border region Guangxi, China. The following research findings were obtained: (1) When human–nature considered, follows inverted U-shaped curve. Specifically, moderate initial increases can lead improvements action; however, when degree exceeds certain threshold, further will decrease capacity. (2) This nonlinear realized through three pathways: production, use patterns, ecological environment. Under context action, study shows level objectively exists reality. insight provides new impetus countries shift policy perspectives increase their efficiency. Additionally, integrates relevant both social sciences natural sciences. Thereby, it only expands existing key factors influencing household but also emphasizes potential cross-disciplinary integration
