Geoheritage sites are important resources due to the diverse ways in which they can be utilized. There small, low-ranked geosites that have attracted significant attention from lay public. This study reports on one such geosite Hosta area of Western Caucasus. Field observations allowed us make judgments related its geoheritage properties and establish factors for successful touristic exploitation. represents a furrow Upper Cretaceous limestones area, inherited former weak zone or minor fault grew landslides. The degree uniqueness this is low; it curvilinear space; boasts perfect accessibility, including nearby resort, landscape context scenic. Labyrinth located yew–boxwood grove natural reserve, visited by crowds tourists. Three direct exploitation success proposed as follows: story (popular explanation geosite’s origin), route (inclusion into popular through grove), cultural appeal (analogy man-made labyrinths). Applying these another geoheritage-rich Caucasus implied some them may not meaningful according objective reasons, but there other geoproduct (particularly geofood) selling. It also noted small size relatively low value do necessarily limit their geotouristic potential. Overall, case suggests “selling” successfully requires advanced, innovative solutions creativity.

Abstract Geodiversity and geoheritage research has gained increasing prominence in natural social sciences, reflecting their critical role nature conservation, regional development, geosystem services, environmental change. Given the inter- transdisciplinary character of geodiversity studies, a notable shift from basic mapping, description assessment particular geosites to more advanced sophisticated methods approaches is evident during last years. Emerging themes include quantitative analyses geodiversity-biodiversity relationships, dynamics geomorphosites, innovative degradation risk methodologies tailored varying conditions, geotourism assessments specific areas, application concepts policy management. Additionally, integrating GIS IT tools enhanced evaluation elements landscape structures ecosystem services. This article provides brief reflection on new directions serves as an introduction Special Issue Moravian Geographical Reports ‘Geodiversity Geoheritage: Bridging Science, Conservation, Development’. The Rudny Altai is a western segment of the orogenic belt. Its geological richness makes its geoheritage exploration an urgent matter. Investigations in Loktevsky District (Altai Region, Russian Federation) have led to finding three notable localities, which are proposed as geosites. Field investigations and both qualitative semi-quantitative (scoring by criteria) studies were carried out characterize value properties these localities. Abstract Geosites are significant geological heritage areas that serve as field laboratories for researchers. They offer insights into processes have occurred from the past to present and hold high potential geotourism. To preserve make geosites sustainable, their accessibility is a prerequisite. For this purpose, model consisting of various parameters was developed in accordance with Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method, identifying 183 geosite been determined by experts subjects literature. As result, four evaluation criteria were established, including accessibility, access service/attractiveness areas, scientific importance, geomorphological features. Taking these account, collective map obtained using GIS-based AHP, drawing upon literature expert opinions. The study concluded most critical parameter itself, accounting 50% importance. Other influenced following order importance: 25% land, 15% 10% service/attractiveness. Consequently, where Türkiye convenient those highest road density. Road density, turn, exhibits pattern based on characteristics topography, population, trade factors. Additionally, parallel outcome emerged between more suitable terms factors density geosites. validation newly created model, Türkiye's recognized UNESCO found be very high, indicating method can applied different areas.

Territorial inventories of geosites remain on the international agenda, and they can help in acquiring information for solving pure geological research tasks. New field investigations northern part Mountainous Adygeya (geoheritage-rich territory western Greater Caucasus) permitted us to extend our knowledge its geosites. Five were described qualitatively assessed semi-quantitatively, namely Polkovnitskaya River Valley (ammonite-bearing concretions Aptian glauconitic sandstones), Little Khadzhokh (Aptian sandstones with fossils trace fossils), Shakhan Middle (Upper Jurassic variegated siliciclastics, Hauterivian fluvial deltaic sandstones, mixed ancient modern clastic material), Big Khadzhoh Waterfall (splendid waterfall exposures locally folded Oxfordian–Kimmeridgian limestones), Verblyud Mountain (small, camel-shaped cuesta’s remnant). They ranked nationally (one geosite), regionally (three geosites), geosite). Close examination considered register peculiarities (changes dip direction between sedimentary packages), which indicate tectonic activity across Jurassic–Cretaceous transition. Additionally, complex accessibility patterns established some geosites, these should be addressed further refinements semi-quantitative approaches geosite assessment.
