Water yield is one of the crucial functions ecosystem services, playing a vital role in regulating and improving watershed water cycles, closely related to other services such as soil conservation, crop production, biodiversity protection. Studying spatiotemporal variations influencing mechanisms Guangdong Province significant importance for rational development resources implementation ecological governance. In this study, InVEST model was employed calculate years 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2018. The results indicate irregular fluctuations total Province, with annual average values ranging between 233.18 mm 271.77 mm. Spatially, there clear gradient decreasing from north south east west. This research centers on the necessity for synchronized management of natural resources in urban agglomerations. study utilizes ecosystem services theory to analyze interplay between land use and Food-Water-Energy (F-W-E) nexus Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (B-T-H) region from 2000 2030. Assessment is conducted using InVEST models, which include Habitat Quality (HQ), Water Yield (WY), Carbon Sequestration (CS), Soil Retention (SDR), Food Production (FP). The findings indicate an annual increase construction with a concurrent notable decrease cultivated land. Furthermore, HQ, CS, per capita FP show decline until 2020, expected continue Conversely, WY SDR have been growing annually, albeit projected by Spearman coefficient analysis uncovers synergies HQ alongside trade-offs CS WY. Trade-offs are also observed SDR, HQ. Applying K-means clustering facilitates county-based spatial planning F-W-E system, providing crucial insights suggestions sustainable resource management.

With global climate change and irrational human activities, regional water resource conflicts are becoming more pronounced. The availability of in watersheds can be indicated by the yield. Exploring factors that influence yield is crucial responding to protecting resource. Previous research on influencing has frequently adopted a macro-level perspective, which failed reflect mechanisms changes at local scale adequately. Therefore, this study proposes novel framework for integrally evaluating impacts activities services from both perspectives. Taking Ganzhou City, source Ganjiang River, as an example, results show following: (1) City had largest 1307.29 mm 2016, lowest was only 375.32 2011. spatial distribution pattern mainly affected surface environment, high-value regions area were predominantly located urban areas with flat terrain. (2) At scale, where contribute than 80% accounted 25% area. In comparison, impact 0.95%. contribution rate significantly greater change. (3) simulation four scenarios contributed (>98%) yield, higher (<2%). This puts forward pioneering views driving forces provides valuable theoretical basis protection ecological environment construction.

ABSTRACT The Northern Hebei Province (NHB) in China serves as a crucial geographical barrier for ensuring the ecological security of mega city‐group Beijing –Tianjin‐Hebei. Due to rapid urbanization and anthropogenic afforestation, NHB is confronted with significant challenge coordinating preservation ecosystem services (ESs) socio‐economic development. Consequently, understanding impacts these human disturbances on ESs essential future decision‐making management optimal provisions ESs. Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Trade‐offs Tools (InVEST) model was used evaluating long‐term trends five key NHB, namely carbon storage (CS), habitat quality (HQ), water yield (WY), net primary productivity (NPP) food production (FP). Further, trade‐offs/synergy were analyzed, bundles identified. main conclusions are follows: (1) From 1996 2020, impervious surface (+122.84%), barren (+169.74%), forest (+19.8%) shrub (+49.03%) increased; waters (−39%), cropland (−20.22%) grassland (−6.14%) decreased. (2) HQ, CS, WY decreased by −5.68%, −10.69% − 20.55%, respectively, while other increased (NPP 115.09%, FP 137.14%). Increases area improved multiple but reduced WY. significantly enhanced land use efficiency. (3) Five pairs showed synergies, another trade‐offs. trade‐offs between three (CS‐WY, FP‐WY, FP‐NPP) strengthened, synergies enhanced. (4) ecologically fragile bundle 19.44% at county level 83.89% pixel level. As evidenced ES two levels, there distinct goals different levels. planning should be based spatial which can provide necessary information support sustainable development regional ecosystems.

Payment for ecosystem services is a conservation strategy designed to offer farmers financial incentives managing land provide ecological benefits without disturbing livelihoods. However, the distribution of spatial feasibility challenging when implementing this on watershed scale. This study aimed develop payment model improve quality in lake water catchment. The estimated incentive values based costs farmers’ losses, yields, and pollution loads. potential loss was calculated by determining income catchment spent conversion from intensive agriculture agroforestry. Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Tradeoffs (InVEST) modeling tool used calculate yield load. tested with case approach at Lake Rawa Pening Indonesia, consisting nine sub-basins 75 village administrations. results showed that reference compensation 1,255.97 USD/ha/year. Considering each varied widely 891.54 USD/ha/year 1,557.06 USD/ha/year, even within same sub-basin. Ten villages had an above 1,450.00 considering load, 26 maximum 2,024.17 Therefore, boundary should be analysis unit rather than sub-basin boundary. Moreover, level load can become additional variable justify amount received farmers.
