Reliable and cost-efficient license plate recognition (LPR) systems enhance security, traffic management, automated toll collection in real-world applications. This study addresses optimal unique configurations for enhancing LPR system accuracy reliability by evaluating the impact of camera angle, object velocity, distance on efficacy real-time systems. The Internet Things (IoT) framework is proposed utilized single-board computer (SBC) technology, such as Raspberry Pi 4 platform, with a high-resolution webcam using advanced OpenCV OCR–Tesseract algorithms applied. research endeavors to simulate common deployment scenarios perform thorough testing leveraging SBC computational capabilities webcam’s imaging capabilities. process not just comprehensive, but also meticulous, ensuring system’s various operational settings. We performed extensive experiments hundred repetitions at diverse angles, velocities, distances. An assessment data’s precision, recall, F1 score indicates which Thai plates are identified. results show that angles close 180° significantly reduce perspective distortion, thus precision. Lower vehicle speeds (<10 km/h) shorter distances m) improve reducing motion blur improving image clarity.
