Abstract Sustainable development is not exactly a new topic, but seen in the light of recent events, there growing need to identify ways putting sustainable principles into practice. The present paper aims analyze influence that elements organizational culture have on increase efficiency and effectiveness implementing management Romanian higher education institutions. Purpose Combating unsustainable activities is a crucial barrier to sustainable development, since they have drastically escalated the climate change which needs an immediate attention by Z generation. The study aims examine role of sustainability literacy, institutional initiatives and individual factors in impacting university students’ practices giving due consideration teacher support student engagement.
