Exploring the impact of EU funding on the local governance of migrant integration: the rise of project-driven governance

This article explores the consequences of project-based EU funding schemes for local governance migrant integration. In doing so, it also sheds light on some under-researched aspects integration governance, such as its financial and temporal dimensions importance actors' ability to develop shared action plans attract resources implement them. With these aims, bridges migration studies literature projectification public policies, offers fresh empirical insights into unaccompanied minor in two Italian localities. To account observed processes, proposes a specific type 'project-driven governance', which is characterised by three features: dependence opportunities; key role 'project entrepreneurs', namely actors who are able exploit opportunities turning their ideas viable projects; instability over time.
