This
study
examines
the
integration
of
Saudi
food
industry
into
Global
Value
Chain
(GVC)
by
assessing
influence
key
external
factors,
including
Trade
Policy
(TP),
Digital
Business
(DB),
Collaborative
Partnerships
(CP),
Ethical
Issues
(EI),
and
Sustainability
Environment
(SE).
Open
Innovation
(OI)
is
analyzed
as
a
mediating
factor
linking
these
elements
to
GVC
participation.
Using
structural
equation
modeling
(SEM),
data
from
178
decision-makers
in
sector
reveal
that
while
factors
significantly
impact
participation,
their
effect
primarily
channeled
through
OI.
OI
facilitates
knowledge
sharing,
technology
adoption,
collaboration,
serving
critical
enabler
integration.
These
findings
underscore
transformative
role
leveraging
enhance
competitiveness,
aligning
with
Vision
2030's
economic
diversification
objectives.
The
emphasizes
need
for
policymakers
leaders
promote
initiatives
strengthen
global
positioning
industry.
