The COVID-19 pandemic has considerably impacted the health and lifestyle of various populations worldwide, leading to decreased physical activity, increased sedentary behavior, problems. This study aimed investigate Hong Kong young adults' related behaviors, perceptions body image during pandemic. A cross-sectional online survey adults aged 18-29 was conducted from February March 2021 using well-validated Multidimensional Body Self-Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ). Among 408 respondents, 52.5% had a normal weight in BMI range, 45.1% engaged ≥8 h behavior daily, 77.2% no regular or inadequate activity (<2.5 h/week), only 22.3% joined fitness club. BMI, joining any club/class were significantly associated with most factors additional subscales. multiple linear regression model showed that underweight respondents (reference group: normal) (β = -0.26, 95% CI: -0.41 -0.12) less likely have high scores orientation. who <2.5 h/week 0.42, 0.29 0.54), ≥2.5 0.99, 0.84 1.14) activity), 0.32, 0.18 0.45) more score Local governments, non-governmental organizations, schools, community centers should establish appropriate strategies activities order sufficiently encourage support well-being.

The emergence of new immune-evasive severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants and subvariants outpaces the development vaccines specific against dominant circulating strains. In terms only accepted immune correlate protection, inactivated whole-virion vaccine using wild-type SARS-CoV-2 spike induces a much lower serum neutralizing antibody titre Omicron subvariants. Since given intramuscularly is one most commonly used disease 2019 (COVID-19) in developing regions, we tested hypothesis that intranasal boosting after intramuscular priming would provide broader level protection. Here, showed or two boosts with Fc-linked trimeric receptor-binding domain from can induce significantly higher antibodies subvariants, including BA.5.2 XBB.1, bronchoalveolar lavage vaccinated Balb/c mice than vaccination four doses whole virion vaccine. intranasally K18-hACE2-transgenic also had nasal turbinate viral load, suggesting better protection upper airway, which predilected site infection by This approach achieves cross-protection may lengthen interval required for changing immunogen months to years.

Background: Deisolation of persons infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, presented a substantial challenge for healthcare workers and policy makers, particularly during early phases pandemic. Data to guide deisolation SARS-CoV-2-infected patients remain limited, risk transmitting acquiring infection has changed evolution SARS-CoV-2 variants population immunity from previous vaccination or infection, both. Aims: This review examines evidence inpatients within hospital setting when clinically improving also COVID-19 prior returning work. Methods: A was performed using relevant search terms in Medline, EMBASE, Google Scholar, PubMed. Results Discussion: The is reviewed regards nature transmission, role testing deisolation, impact SARS-CoV-2-specific immunity. paradigm recommendations are proposed return work workers.
