We asked if SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity in HIV/TB co-infected patients plays a role precipitating active tuberculosis HIV-infected individuals and alters inflammatory status. A prospective study was conducted on presenting with pulmonary (n = 20) or extrapulmonary 12) tuberculosis. Abbott IgG kits assessed the presence of anti-nucleoprotein antibodies. Inflammatory markers viz. osteopontin, total full-length galectin-9, C-reactive protein were tested at baseline end antituberculosis treatment. The score (INS) based percentage reduction markers’ levels Anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies detected five male diagnosed 2) 3) TB. None them reported symptomatic COVID-19. marker did not differ significantly compared to those seronegative patients. However, INS correlated negatively (r −0.386, p 0.039), indicating persistently raised these treatment individuals. Among four studied, galectin-9 failed decrease (p 0.030). majority enrolled our (84.5%) SARS-CoV-2-seronegative, that infection might have played TB reactivation.
