Pharmaceutical active preparations are designed with specific biological and physiological properties. These formulations possess desired therapeutic action against numerous diseases infections. But some have hazardous effects on the environment when it comes to disposal of medicines, is necessary know about importance proper waste disposal. The primary objective study medicinal system awareness among health care professionals especially past expiry date. cross-sectional survey-based was performed in Karachi. Data collected through an online Google questionnaire form. results were analyzed. Among 203 responders, 65% (n=132) females while other 35% (n=71) males. Approximately 57.1% (n=116) agreed that they aware hazards medication 63.05% (n=128) think responsibility Pharmacies Association regulatory bodies for medicines. recommends we establish uniform guidelines safe expired or unused medications. Significant problems malpractices identified unused, unwanted prescription medication, lack a drug take-back system, medications & surgical, inadequate adversely affecting our health.

COVID-19 caused an increase in the demand for medications, which led to pharmaceutical waste and there is no doubt that this contributes environmental pollution. Hence, it became necessary search how protect improve environment by encouraging behavior of medication reduction. Accordingly, study aims investigate factors affecting intentions reduce waste. Considering this, we develop extended theory planned (TPB) framework incorporating constructs moral obligation, awareness, risk perception. Using convenience sampling method based on a self-administered questionnaire, total 225 usable responses were collected five Algerian cities. The results showed positive attitudes (β = 0.316, p < 0.001), obligation 0.291, awareness 0.227, perceived control (PBC) 0.151, greater risks 0.127, subjective norm 0.096, 0.05) significantly positively influence minimization intention. Furthermore, our analyses revealed TPB model explained 73.40% intention variance. In conclusion, have explored intentions, may be gap between intent actual behavior. Therefore, recommend future studies examine reduction ethics religious commitment as predictors intentions.

Abstract Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) are an indispensable component of a healthy society. However, they well‐established environmental contaminants, many can elicit biological disruption in exposed organisms. It is now decade since the landmark review covering top 20 questions on PPCPs environment (Boxall et al., 2012). In present study we discuss key research priorities for next 10 years with focus how regions where pose greatest risk to human health, either or future, be identified. Specifically, why this problem importance our current understanding aquatic environment. Foci include PPCP occurrence what drives their emission as well ability both quantify model distribution. We highlight critical areas future including involvement citizen science monitoring using modeling techniques bridge gap between capacity needs. Because prioritization need needed assess future/current risks, also propose four criteria which may achieved. By applying these available data, narrow efforts most urgent. 19 cities across Africa, Central America, Caribbean, Asia characterization define priority years. This paper highlights potential active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) generations from improper disposal of medicines and captures the perceptions key stakeholders - households actors in Upper Citarum River Basin (UCRB). Most waste is disposed with household waste, suggesting landfills are most significant APIs contamination sources. We highlight complex relationship between knowledge, risk perception, behavioural intentions, stressing relevance perception as a mediator when studying how knowledge affects behaviour. Age income suggested to moderate intention. There heavy use over-the-counter prescription drugs UCRB, especially Paracetamol (426.1 tons/year) Amoxicillin (343.7 tons/year). Measured herbal cultural significance dependence on traditional medicine. suggest examining influence affect behaviour safe medicine environmental health impact water systems.

The pharmaceutical industry plays a critical role in providing essential healthcare products to people globally. However, the industry's operations and supply chains have significant environmental impacts, including consumption of resources, generation waste, emission greenhouse gases. This study aimed evaluate impact green chain management (GSCM) practices on sustainability firms. was desk review. It followed systematic approach, conducting comprehensive search across academic databases such as Google Scholar, Research Gate, JSTOR, Emerald Insight ProQuest, journals conference proceedings. paper outlined findings past studies done relationship between GSCM organizational especially researcher sourced online under criteria that they focused were carried out from year 2010 2023. showed has positive firm sustainability. Additionally, firms embraced demonstrated heightened commitment employee welfare community engagement further enhancing social research also highlighted procurement performance, particularly energy reduction waste management. Green manufacturing led improved emphasizing optimized production processes reduced hazardous substances. conclusion adoption holds immense promise for evidence suggests proactive integration leads reductions resource consumption, lower emissions, operational efficiency. concluded Kenya should develop implement holistic strategies encompass eco-friendly sourcing, efficient transportation, reduction, responsible disposal minimize impact. Pharmaceutical build strong partnerships with suppliers encourage sustainable throughout chain, ensuring compliance standards driving collective efforts towards goals.
