Food packaging plays an essential role in preserving food quality. However, heavy metals found materials—whether intentionally incorporated or not—can migrate into food. This study aims to evaluate the migration of specific (Ba, Co, Cu, Zn, Al, Ni, Li, Fe, Pb, Cd, Cr, Sb) from plastic packages (films and bags) obtained various materials (PE, PP, PVC, composite materials) simulant B (3% acetic acid) using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Migration tests was conducted according EU regulations, OM2 conditions (10 days at 40 °C). The results were lower than limits set by Regulation no. 10/2011 (Annex II). Both carcinogenic non-carcinogenic risk assessments carried out based on data, estimating exposure, average daily dose (ADD), hazard quotient (HQ), index (HI), cancer (CR), total (TCR). exposure values be below recommended tolerable intake (TDI) levels for each metal tested. HQ HI under limit value 1. 1.73 × 10−4, indicating that approximately consumers 10,000 may develop a type due chronic tested metals. These highlight importance continuous monitoring chemical migrants contact materials.

Assessing groundwater quality is essential for ensuring the sustainability of agriculture and ecosystems. This study evaluates contamination by heavy metals (HMs) using GIS approaches, multivariate statistical analysis (MSA), pollution indices (heavy metal index (HPI), (MI), degree (Cd), ecological risk (ERI), (PI)), human health assessment (HHRA). The results revealed significant variations in concentrations across area, with highest found southern southeastern parts, characterized intense agricultural activities uncontrolled landfills. Statistical analyses indicated both natural anthropogenic sources contamination. Pollution showed medium to high water levels, HPI values ranging from 20.23 128.60, MI 3.34 12.17, Cd 2.90 11.73, indicating varying degrees ERI suggested a low all samples. However, assessments highlighted non-carcinogenic carcinogenic risks, particularly children, TCR some like Ni Cr exceeding safe limits, potential hazards. findings provide valuable framework policymakers develop targeted strategies mitigating sustainable management.

Water pollution is a major public health issue, especially in mining areas where artisanal activities are prevalent. The objective of this study was to analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) population regarding water Siguiri, Guinea. A cross-sectional conducted from May 15 June 15, 2023, on Doko, Siguiri. Data were collected using structured questionnaire that assessed related areas. Logistic regression used factors associated with KAP. survey included 501 respondents. Good knowledge observed 53% respondents, while 52% exhibited positive attitude towards area. reported by 81% multivariate analysis showed being educated (ORa: 2.13; 95% CI: 1.39; 3.29) foreigner 1.88; 1.04; 3.51) significantly attitudes Indeed, single (aOR: 1.84; 1.10; 3.14), having good 2.51; 1.47; 4.36) lack lifestyle (tobacco alcohol) 1.02; 5.97) practices. This revealed moderate adequate Siguiri's However, significant gaps remain, including awareness risks prolonged exposure heavy metals. This study assesses the concentrations of trace elements in groundwater from Kara, focusing on their implications for water quality and health risks. Groundwater samples were collected analyzed during dry post-monsoon seasons pH, TDS, metals using standard methods calculating pollution indices noncarcinogenic carcinogenic was found to be fresh but more acidic season. Only As, Pb, Sb, Fe, Mn exceeded acceptable limits some samples, highlighting potential Based heavy metal index, is unsuitable domestic purposes 16.67% 4.17% seasons, respectively. According degree contamination, 37.5% season 20.8% fell high classes. Most presented a hazard index above unity resident children adults. Carcinogenic risk assessment scores 10 100-fold higher than safe point 10-6. Adequate access treated drinking regular monitoring are essential mitigate these risks Kara region.
