Analyzing vegetation coverage and land-use land cover (LULC) characteristics helps to understand the interaction between human activities natural environment. The coastal regions of Guangdong Province are economically active areas with frequent activities, located in advantageous environment South China. This study analyzed spatiotemporal normalized difference index (NDVI) LULC from 2000 2020, explore response NDVI changes changes. results show that (1) overall is relatively high, a proportion 85.37% 89.48% higher above categories, mainly distributed east west. Vegetation showed an increasing trend. (2) this area composed forest (46.5% 47.5%) cultivated (30.7% 33.4%), high-altitude plains. 2015 2020 were significant, due mutual transfer land. In addition, built-up continued expand Pearl River Delta. (3) decreases come various types land, Delta region, while increase comes stability net contribution rate change most significant (−38.903% 23.144%). has reference significance for their changes, as well management sustainable development.
