The place of music in the school curriculum is under increasing threat, yet this contrary to growing evidence base music’s value pupils’ social and psychological development. A contributory factor that many teachers report a lack training, skill, confidence, or resources for excluding their classroom. An innovative project used young adults with disabilities as mentors improve children’s access creative music-making, while also providing non-threatening models them practical tools embed classrooms. evaluation was undertaken project’s impact. Eight classes from four schools city high levels deprivation received 16 hours sessions over four-week period, usually form four-hour workshop.
