Photoinduced chemical reactions and the development of new materials represent a current significant topic. We present sustainable eco-friendly approach to Knoevenagel condensation reaction involving carbonyl active methylene compounds. Our method utilizes photo-activated carbon dots (CDs) derived from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5HMF) within an aqueous medium does not require acidic, basic, or thermal conditions. This protocol operates effectively with aromatic, aliphatic, heteroaromatic aldehydes ketones. The 5HMF-derived-CDs can be reused four times without loss activity. Moreover, this methodology is suitable for scaling up reactions, thereby highlighting its potential industrial applications.

Abstract A strategy for the immobilization of chiral 2,3‐bisaminocyclopropenium salt (pre‐catalyst) onto polystyrene and silica supports is presented together with a suitable procedure conversion into corresponding cyclopropenimine superbase catalysts. We present a continuous flow method for the conversion of bioderived limonene oxide and dioxide to carbonates using carbon in its supercritical state as reagent sole solvent. Various ammonium- imidazolium-based ionic liquids were initially investigated batch mode. For applying best-performing selective catalyst tetrabutylammonium chloride flow, liquid was physisorbed on mesoporous silica. In addition analysis surface area pore size distribution supported phase (SILP) catalysts via nitrogen physisorption, SILPs characterized by diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy thermogravimetric served heterogeneous flow.
