We describe two new species of asterophryine microhylid frogs from the Gulf Province lowlands south-central Papua New Guinea. Cophixalus flavopunctatus sp. nov. is a small member genus (SUL 13.5–15.5 mm) that most commonly encountered on stream banks. It can be distinguished all congeners by its size and presence yellow tubercles dorsum. Calling activity appears to peak in early morning evening when males produce train melodious peeping notes within litter forest floor. Oreophryne purari medium-sized 24.0 mm only male) calls at night high canopy with series harsh honking notes. Its morphology call structure closely resemble O. loriae (Boulenger, 1898), known eastern Guinea, but it differs having cartilaginous connection between procoracoid scapula (vs. ligamentous connection), several aspects morphometrics colouration. The discovery description these adds an already impressive frog diversity lowland forests southern
