Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a form of damage resulting from diabetes and represents common, severe complication the disease. Globally, DKD leading cause chronic (CKD). occurs in both type 1 2 patients, with early clinical manifestations including microalbuminuria hypertension. As condition progresses, symptoms such as massive proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, edema may appear. The key to treating lies controlling blood glucose pressure, reducing slowing deterioration function. Acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, has shown some therapeutic effects on through mechanisms regulating glucose, improving renal flow microcirculation, antioxidation anti-inflammation, modulating gut microbiota.

Fatty acid metabolism is a complex biochemical process, including the production, breakdown and application of fatty acids. Not only it an important component lipid metabolism, also connected to energy pathways cells plays vital role in maintaining balance organisms. Diacylglycerol-O-acyltransferase 1 (DGAT1) 2 (DGAT2) are key components regulating which provide for cell proliferation growth. Recent studies have shown that DGAT1 DGAT2 influence tumor progression through cancer. Although similar names, they differ significantly various aspects play distinct roles individual tumors. A comparative analysis physiological these enzymes their differential expressions different types tumors will enhance our understanding unique characteristics. This article summarizes characteristics explains how specifically promote progression. In addition, this review discusses potential lipid-lowering drugs treatment, providing new perspective on targeting inhibit future, while emphasizing importance as targets treatment.

Abstract Background The potential preventive effect of fenofibrate on lower extremity amputation (LEA) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) is not fully elucidated. Methods We selected adult ≥ 20 years age T2D from the Korean National Health Insurance Service Database (2009–2012). users were matched a 1:4 ratio non-users using propensity scores (PS). outcome variables composite LEA PAD individual components. risks outcomes implemented as hazard (HR) 95% confidence intervals (CI). For safety issues, acute kidney injury, rhabdomyolysis resulting hospitalization analyzed. Results A total 114,920 was included analysis median follow-up duration 7.6 (22,984 91,936 for user non-user groups, respectively). After PS matching, both groups well balanced. group associated significantly (HR 0.81; CI 0.70–0.94), 0.76; 0.60–0.96), 0.68–0.96). risk rhabdomyolysis, or these events showed no significant difference between two groups. Subgroup analyses revealed consistent benefits across genders, baseline lipid profiles. Conclusions This nationwide population-based retrospective observational study suggests that can prevent who are statin therapy.

Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is the most famous species of microalgae and a possible source important chemicals therapeutic metabolites with variety pharmacological effects. This study investigated nutritional profile spirulina powder its potential to decrease hyperlipidemia in male Wistar albino rats. The rats were divided into five groups: G1 (spirulina 300 mg/kg), G2 600 G3 900 PC (positive control; no treatment), NC [negative control + chow rodent diet (CMD)] throughout experimental period. Blood samples from analyzed for albumin apoprotein-E, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density (HDL), triglycerides, cholesterol levels. Rat liver tissues examined histopathologically observe morphological changes before after course treatment. Overall findings demonstrated that comparison all other groups except NC, high dose (900 mg/kg) significantly decreased levels (68.8 ± 1.4 mg/dl), triglyceride (86.7 2.2 LDL (20 0.82 mg/dl). However, it also increased HDL (46.8 2.46 mg/dl) apoprotein-E (6.13 0.1). Alanine transaminase (ALT) aspartate aminotransferase (AST) (p ≤ 0.05) reduced treatment compared PC, NC. In conclusion, an excellent mitigate hyperlipidemia, promising prevention chronic diseases.
