This paper is one of the few to examine how people who have lived through both COVID-19 and AIDS understand these pandemics in relation each other. Introduction: Adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in India face additional health inequities compared to their male peers, as gender norms constrain agency for prevention self-care. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic associated lockdowns deepened often worsened mental health, but impacts on are unclear. This exploratory sequential mixed methods paper examined elements that exacerbated or mitigated adverse consequences AGYW low-income communities Mumbai.
