The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education could offer benefits for research and learning but also raises ethical concerns about authorship academic dishonesty. This pilot study explores the impact AI on ESL writing, particularly their potential to enhance students' reading writing skills while mitigating unethical practices. 15 sophomores completed two tasks—one at beginning one end semester—after receiving training responsible use tools. findings indicate a notable decrease cases plagiarism fraud, alongside improvements global scores, organization, content quality, grammar orthography. Additionally, students reported general positive perception tools, drafting revision stages recognized role as supportive rather than substitutive. These results suggest proper integration can promote integrity proficiency education.
