Abstract Plants exhibit remarkable regenerative abilities under stress conditions like injury, herbivory, and damage from harsh weather, particularly through adventitious root formation. They have sophisticated molecular mechanisms to recognize respond wounding. Jasmonic acid (JA), a wound hormone, triggers auxin synthesis stimulate regeneration. Melatonin (MT), structurally similar auxin, also significantly influences induction, but its specific mechanism is unclear. Phytomelatonin's signal transduction discovered in wound‐induced formation, identifying SlPMTR1/2 as phytomelatonin receptors, transmitting signals SHOOT BORNE ROOTLESS 1 (SlSBRL1), key regulator of regeneration, via the G protein α subunit (SlGPA1). Additionally, activated by JA, targeted SlMYC2. Overall, on regeneration uncovered revealed crosstalk between offering new insights into plant repair mechanisms.

Cytokinins (CKs) are a class of phytohormones identified in the early 1960s and mainly responsible for stimulating cell division. Following discovery, research to help understand pluralistic roles CKs plant growth stress biology increased. With their fascinating ability, serve as an important element regulating defense–growth trade-off. Herein, we demonstrate how CK fine-tuning organogenesis different parts horticultural plants is discussed. CK’s role tailoring reproductive (flowering, sex differentiation, fruit set, attributes) has been presented. An extensive explanation CK-mediated response crops abiotic (temperature, drought, salinity) biotic stresses (fungal, bacterial, nematodes) provided. Finally, posit unexplored highlight gaps worth addressing.
