This study addresses the urgent need to improve energy efficiency in air conditioning systems by developing a low-cost automated control system for mini-split units. In alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12, proposed reduces consumption without compromising user comfort. Implemented an educational building Jalisco, Mexico, integrates Siemens Logo 8 PLC, NodeMCU ESP12-E board, and open-source software operations through temperature sensors infrared signal emitters. A quantitative, descriptive, correlational methodology was applied, yielding significant results: 10.63% reduction 34.8% operating costs. Additionally, maintains stable indoor temperatures within optimal range of 22 24 °C while on local network, ensuring reliability constant internet access.
