Introduction The study aimed to investigate the correlation between psychological factors and school attendance among primary school-going refugee pupils in Rwamwanja settlement, Kamwenge District. Methodology A cross-sectional involving 205 respondents assessed impact of like depression, anxiety, stress on using Depression, Anxiety, Stress method. Results response rate for survey was 95.1%, with 195 out surveys completed, surpassing recommended 70% threshold data collection (Amin, 2006). majority were female (56%), most them (67%) fell within 13-15 age group. Participants hailed from four different countries, Democratic Republic Congo being represented (45%), followed by Rwanda (41%), Burundi (8%), South Sudan (7%). analysis indicated average scores 6.7 5.9 6.2 stress, slight variations those who attended low high school. a strong connection depression attendance, as higher correlated increased (cOR = 1.57, 95% CI 1.31–1.88, p<0.001). Conversely, anxiety did not exhibit notable attendance. Through multivariate regression analysis, accounting sociodemographic variables such age, sex, country origin, it confirmed that remained significantly linked (aOR 1.59, 1.33–1.91, p<0.001), while still demonstrated no significant impact. Conclusion concluded are crucial influencing pupils, socio-demographic insignificant. Recommendations suggests interventions focusing support addressing socio-economic barriers can improve emphasizing need holistic approach address their educational needs.

Background: Many schools are committed to the “Five Steps a Health Promoting School guide” created by Schools for in Europe (SHE) network avoid chronic disease and promote healthy environments. Objectives: The aim of this study was evaluate schools’ health promotion policies practices via SHE rapid assessment tool. Methods: From February 2019 June 2019, cross-sectional survey based on tool conducted nine international that part private operating multiple countries. entire school community offered opportunity participate. consisted 37 questions aligned with whole-school approach addressed orientation, policy, physical social environment, skills, links, staff well-being using three-point scale. A univariate analysis subsequently performed. Results: total 929 people responded, 59.7% whom were women, representing 74 different nationalities (82.5% Europeans). average age 25.9 years, ranging from 7 77 years. participants included 57.2% students, 21.3% teachers, 15.3% families, 3.2% management teams, 1% counsellors/psychologists, administrative/service staff, 0.5% catering 0.3% nursing/medical 0.2% maintenance staff. findings revealed 80% respondents felt most these needs being partially or fully addressed, predominantly medium high priority. However, 30% indicated had not yet assessed students’ employees’ promoted work-life. Conclusions: serves as an effective initial step identifying key indicators within community, offering insights future action towards becoming health-promoting school. These results underscore importance addressing behavioural determinants educational settings positive sociorelational youth development. By fostering children, adolescents, play pivotal role reducing risk factors diseases supporting psychosocial adaptation.
