Considering that universities follow trends closely in worldwide digital innovation, this community case presents how organizational communication examined and implemented new ways of connecting people environments. A official Meta profile at the university was created as part an innovative plan department level utilized for purpose. The results a 12-month trial revealed social connections between fit with connections. In experimental design communication, following two paths were followed: planning experiences to stimulate student engagement promoting these initiatives through networks (i.e., Facebook Instagram). To connect students instill feeling belonging their institution, specific also restructure traditional approach media dialogue, considering students, teachers, academic staff are all same community; instead conventional style based on informational language, more conversational used, audience being involved much possible questions, surveys, mentions, collaborative posts foster sense inclusion. ABSTRACT This study explores the emotional entanglements and lived experiences of students at an English‐medium international branch campus in Middle East following announcement its closure. Using interpretive phenomenological approach, it examines how students’ emotions are deeply intertwined with identity racialized geopolitics shaping their transnational institutional belonging. In‐depth, semi‐structured interviews were conducted 12 Asian Arab students, whose non‐citizen status made them particularly vulnerable to closure's consequences. A thematic analysis revealed three overarching themes: disruption belonging, geopolitical frustrations, increased solidarity among peers. The closure not only created uncertainty around academic trajectories but also intensified feelings othering discrimination tied broader racialized, dynamics. However, shared experience upheaval cultivated a sense camaraderie as bonded over and, for some, reaffirmed identities within campus. contributes growing body research on enmeshed identity, power, space. It illustrates decisions higher education contexts can disrupt trajectories, reshape personal collective identities, impact belonging well‐being.

Efforts to improve student retention are regularly explored within higher education literature and practice due their status as a noble aim shared by governments, universities, students themselves. To this end, students’ sense of belonging has become an increasingly popular topic study its comprehensive links success. However, while is understood binary, externally defined metric, subjective, messy, dynamic. This utilises longitudinal design explore the changing relationship between belonging, intention persist, eventual continuation with 101 first-year undergraduate at two English universities. Regression analyses were utilised build on previous research showing near-perfect correlation persist. Sense was also strong predictor for all time-point measures except start first academic year. These findings provide further evidence promise tool practitioners pre-empt risks withdrawal. suggest that early measurements could be less reliable.
