This paper presents a deep learning model that can classify COVID-19 patients through cough sounds. The sound data were selected from the Cambridge set which is crowedsourced collected sounds application. Virufy and Coswara sets also for external testing. For waveform, we extracted Variable frequency complex demodulation (VFCDM) image applied to Xception, as pre-trained model. Then zero crossing rate (ZCR), spectral roll-off (SR), centroid (SC), bandwidth (SB), concatenated them output node of Results evaluated by using area under receiver operating curve. set: 0.9346, 0.9244, 0.8250.

Famotidine has been proposed as a promising candidate for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, there is limited research on association famotidine with poor prognosis COVID-19.The Korean nationwide cohort included 6,556 patients who tested positive RT-PCR severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The COVID-19-related outcomes were defined basis having encountered composite outcome high oxygen therapy, intensive care unit admission, administration mechanical ventilation, or death. In addition, we performed exposure-driven propensity score matching no H2-blocker use versus current use, and other use.4,785 (73.0%) did not H2-blocker, 393 (6.0%) currently used famotidine, 1,292 (19.7%) than famotidine. multivariable analysis after (no use), was significant between (adjusted odd ratios [aOR]: 1.30, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.55-3.06). On hand, another matched (other demonstrated (aOR: 3.56, CI: 1.03-12.28).Our study results support potential therapeutic agent COVID-19. A rather unexpected result could be observed in comparisons use; it that increased risk COVID-19 related outcomes. Further studies are needed to clearly prove causal relationship several H2-blockers, including

Rotavirus causes a gastrointestinal tract infection that primarily affects young children. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals infected with virus were subjected quarantine measures, strong emphases on personal hygiene and social distancing. The present study aimed evaluate characteristics of rotaviruses compare prevalence rotavirus before during pandemic. This nationwide representative was conducted using data acquired from National Health Insurance Service between 2010 2021. We analyzed patients younger than 12 months old who diagnosed enteritis January December During period, total 34,487 infants in South Korea. two-year pandemic (2020-2021), rate decline significant (5843 cases 1125 2019), by 2021, number almost negligible, as there are only 18 A increase ratio low birth weight (LBW) inpatient department observed 2021 (4.86% 2010; 7.77% 2019; 23.08% 2021), indicating LBW more vulnerable born normal weight. Average medical expenses related infections also declined significantly 3,789,443,998 per year (pre-pandemic) 808,353,795 (pandemic). Overall, distancing may play important roles reducing infections. However, further studies needed determine whether this decreasing trend persists after life resumes.

COVID-19's disproportionate effects on socioeconomic and behavioral factors may have affected the prevalence of obesity. To better understand trends in body mass index (BMI) among Koreans before during pandemic, we examined several biosocial risk factors. During BMI increased less rapidly than anticipated. The multifaceted impact pandemic appears to resulted from shifts social interactions, eating, exercise routines. This study suggests revising recommendations for preventing obesity promoting a healthier diet physical activity groups most at pandemic.

Background: After a case of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was reported in Wuhan, China, at the end 2019, cause disease 2019 (COVID-19) soon recognized as global public health emergency. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate clinical characteristics allergic healthcare workers (HCWs) confirmed have COVID-19. Methods: included 30 HCWs with COVID-19 Kosar Hospital Semnan, Iran, from February June 2020 (15 and 15 non-allergic individuals). Demographic data, manifestations, laboratory findings subjects were recorded. Results: Total IgE, allergen-specific anti-SARS-CoV IgG measured patients' serum. The average age 33 years, 80% female. Malaise (76.6%), fever (60%), weakness dry cough (56.7%) most common symptoms. showed significantly lower percentage (33.3%) diseases. Apart observed difference mean value total IgE between two groups, no significant differences found respect age, duration disease, O2 saturation, anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG. Conclusions: Coronavirus symptoms did not become patients atopic Moreover, by HCWs.

BACKGROUND Although understanding long-term trends in adolescent screen time and the influence of family structure is essential, there a lack research addressing these issues comprehensively. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to conduct comprehensive investigations into before during COVID-19 pandemic, with particular focus on structures. METHODS used nationwide, large-scale data from Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey South Korea. We indicate changes over 15 years 2008 2022. Weighted linear regression was analyze annual stratified analyses were conducted examine associated risk factors across different RESULTS total 836,972 individuals (n=403,456, 48.2% women), an age range 12-18 years. The analysis revealed overall increase prepandemic (β=8.06, 95% CI 7.74-8.39), notable observed at onset pandemic (β=162.06, 159.49-164.64). Among diverse structures, orphanage group showed most substantial (βdiff=221.90, 159.62-284.17). varied by structure. Notably, nuclear presented distinct time–related factors, including grade, region residence, physical activity frequency, sadness despair, highest education level parents. CONCLUSIONS There has been average among adolescents since exhibiting pronounced trend. for each Findings this suggest that implementation individualized measures tailored should be adopted effectively address increased issue pandemic.

BACKGROUND The outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 in 2019 has necessitated the rapid and accurate detection COVID-19 to manage patients effectively implement public health measures. Artificial intelligence (AI) models analyzing cough sounds have emerged as promising tools for large-scale screening early identification potential cases. OBJECTIVE This study aimed investigate efficacy using a diagnostic tool COVID-19, considering unique acoustic features that differentiate positive negative We investigated whether an AI model trained on sound recordings from specific periods, especially stages pandemic, were applicable ongoing situation with persistent variants. METHODS used 3 data sets (Cambridge, Coswara, Virufy) representing different pandemic Our was Cambridge set subsequent evaluation against all sets. performance analyzed based area under receiver operating curve (AUC) across measurement periods RESULTS demonstrated high AUC when tested set, indicative its initial effectiveness. However, varied significantly other sets, particularly detecting later variants such Delta Omicron, marked decline observed latter. These results highlight challenges maintaining backdrop evolving virus. CONCLUSIONS While offer noninvasive method their effectiveness is challenged by emergence new virus Ongoing research adaptations methodologies are crucial address these limitations. adaptability evolve underscores foundational technology not only current but also future outbreaks, contributing more agile resilient global infrastructure.
