Glucosinolates (GSLs) extracted from various parts of Iberis sempervirens L., including seeds, stems, leaves, and flowers, were qualitatively quantitatively assessed. The analyses GSLs performed by their desulfo counterparts using the UHPLC-DAD-MS/MS technique volatile breakdown products, isothiocyanates, GC-MS technique. GSL profile comprised types, those derived from: methionine, represented methylsulfinylalkyl (glucoiberin), methylsulfanylalkyl (glucoibervirin glucoerucin); phenylalanine (glucotropaeolin); tryptophan (4-methoxyglucobrassicin). Among these, highest level glucoiberin was detected in reaching 35.37 µmol/g dry weight (DW), while glucoibervirin 18.51 DW. To obtain a variety isolation methods employed, hydrodistillation Clevenger-type apparatus (HD), CH2Cl2 after myrosinase hydrolysis for 24 h (EXT), microwave-assisted distillation (MAD), microwave hydrodiffusion gravity (MHG). Volatile isolates tested antiproliferative activity an MTT assay against human lung cancer cell line A549 bladder T24 during incubation period 72 h. HD MAD showed best T24, with IC50 values 0.61 µg/mL 0.62 µg/mL, respectively, EXT most effective line, 1.46 µg/mL.

Comparative pollen morphology of the genus Iberis L. (Brassicaceae) in Turkey and its taxonomic implications DOI

In this study, we report the current palynological characteristics of Iberis taxa naturally distributed in Turkey. The pollen morphology 10 native was investigated across 35 populations. light a reviewed taxonomical study on Turkish taxa, detailed description provided for genus. were examined by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and (LM) to verify confirm their diagnostic importance at specific and/or generic level. Epilobium and Chamaenerion included 165 8 species over the world, respectively. The members of genera are distributed particularly in moist habitats from subpolar to tropical regions.This paper aims provide improvements phylogeny using Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) nuclear DNA matK gene sequence data evaluation with maximum parsimony, likelihood, Bayesian inference criterations. A total 188 individual accessions belonging 28 taxa were newly generated 110 sequences imported GenBank (NCBI) analysed. nrDNA plastid trees supported treat as separate two well-supported clades. analyses revealed a better resolution than ITS within clade inclusion C. angustifolium sect.
