Abstract Proactive employee behaviour (e.g., job crafting) and aligning jobs with abilities, needs, preferences have been accorded the potential for several organisationally desirable outcomes. This study addresses two gaps in existing literature: lack of empirical research on inherent predisposition psychological safety (PS), autonomy (PA), task competence (TC) to JCB limited investigation underlying mechanisms these relationships. uses demands-resources theory examine influence PS, PA, TC moderating role crafting self-efficacy A statistical regression test (aided by Process Micro) was applied data. The found that significantly influenced job-crafting behaviour, while did not. Job moderated effects, being more impactful when is low. contributes understanding JCB’s antecedents boundary conditions, demand-job resource theoretical model a valuable organisational factor needed address this knowledge gap, thus providing insights theory-building practical interventions.
