Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an increasingly frequent disorder that likely to become the third leading cause of morbidity worldwide. It significantly degrades quality life patients affected and poses a significant financial burden healthcare systems providing treatment rehabilitation. Consequently, our study’s purpose was compare conventional inpatient rehabilitation (PR) with virtual (online) PR using mobile phone application. During three-month period, two groups followed research protocol by participating in program administered supervised physical therapist five times per week. A number respiratory variables were examined before after test. At end study total 72 completed group, respectively 58 online group. observed post-test comparison between undergoing traditional methods did not show any differences. However, calculated mean differences pre-test results higher favor method. The most variations encountered maximal inspiratory pressure (MIP) (6.6% vs. 8.5%, p-value < 0.001), 6-min walking test (6MWT) (6.7% 9.4%, COPD assessment (CAT) values (4.8 6.2, respectively. expiratory (MEP) variation method, from average 4.1% 3.2% (p-value 0.001). In this preliminary study, proved non-inferiority better several measurements. Additional studies larger cohorts longer exposure are required validate these findings.

Historically, all efforts against tuberculosis were focused on rapid diagnosis and effective treatment to break the chain of transmission Mycobacterium tuberculosis. However, in last few years, more evidence has been found dramatic consequences condition defined as post-tuberculosis lung disease (PTLD). Approximately one third patients surviving pulmonary face considerable ongoing morbidities, including respiratory impairment, psychosocial challenges, reduced health-related quality life after completion. Given important global local burden tuberculosis, well estimated PTLD, development a consensus document by Brazilian scientific society-Sociedade Brasileira de Pneumologia e Tisiologia (SBPT)-was considered urgent for prevention management this order allocate resources within services appropriately serve guide health care professionals. Pulmonary rehabilitation is essential in post-COVID subjects, reporting respiratory impairment after the discharge from hospital. Because number of patients with outcomes high and there are few facilities available, we wonder if a spa setting could represent valid out-of-hospital alternative. We aim to explore recent evidence related environment understand it can an appropriate for interventions subjects. Abstract Aims and objectives Determination of the effect deep breathing exercise applied with Triflo on dyspnoea, anxiety quality life in patients who are hospitalized for COVID‐19 have dyspnoea. Backround is a viral infection that can cause severe pulmonary disease. Deep may contribute to reduction/elimination dyspnoea anxiety, improvement respiratory life. Design The study was randomized controlled clinical trial conducted accordance Consolidated Standards Reporting Trials (CONSORT) 2010 guidelines. Methods clinic tertiary hospital. A total 44 eligible participants were enrolled from January April 2021. Primary outcomes included oxygen saturation blood, assessment level. Secondary In statistical analysis data, independent sample t ‐test, Wilcoxon test, Mann–Whitney U test Spearman correlation used examine intervention primary secondary outcomes, according numbers, percentage, mean, standard deviation conformity normal distribution. Results It determined group had statistically significant shorter hospitalization time (3.04 ± 0.65), higher SpO 2 level (97.05 1.46) (77.82 6.77) compared usual care ( p < 0.05). Conclusions increases contributes decrease levels. Moreover, duration hospital stay shortened Triflo. Relevance practice With Triflo, rate reaches limits short time, levels increase significantly, improves significantly pneumonia. Background Telemonitoring and telerehabilitation can support home-based pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) benefit patients with lung diseases or COVID-19. This study aimed to (1) identify which telemonitoring interventions (e.g. videoconferencing) are used provide telehealth care for people chronic respiratory conditions COVID-19, (2) an overview of the effects on exercise capacity, physical activity, health-related QoL (HRQoL), healthcare use in Methods A search was performed electronic databases Ovid MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cinahl through 15 June 2021. Subject heading keywords were reflect concepts telemonitoring, telerehabilitation, diseases, Studies that explored effect a and/or intervention, disease such as asthma, obstructive (COPD), reported intervention one more our outcomes interest included. Excluding criteria included evaluation new technological components, teleconsultation one-time patient assessment. Results scoping review 44 publications reporting (25 studies), (8 studies) both (11 COPD (35 asthma (5 (1 study), COVID-19 (2 studies). Patients who received had improvements capacity 9 out 11 (82%) articles, better HRQoL 21 25 (84%), fewer health 3 (100%) articles compared pre-intervention. Compared controls, no statistically significant differences found groups’ 5 6 (83%) activity (84%) 20 (75%) articles. The main limitation high variability between characteristics studies, number age patients, outcome measures, duration components involved, additional elements may influence generalization results. Conclusion positive appeared be effective standard care. Therefore, they promising alternatives remote

Bedridden patients usually stay in bed for long periods, presenting several problems caused by immobility, leading to a recovery process. Thus, identifying physical rehabilitation programs bedridden with prolonged immobility requires urgent research. Therefore, this scoping review aimed map existing the domains, devices used, parameters accessed, and context which these were performed. This review, guided Joanna Briggs Institute’s (JBI) methodology conducted different databases (including grey literature), identified 475 articles, of 27 included review. The observed contexts research institutes, hospitals, units, nursing homes, long-term palliative care units. Most directed musculoskeletal domain, predominantly toward lower limbs. used limb mobilization, electrical stimulation, inclined planes, cycle ergometers. evaluated musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, or vital signs. variability programs, found revealed no uniformity, consequence personalization individualization care, makes development standard intervention program challenging.

Abstract Aim Examine effectiveness of respiratory rehabilitation and moderating factors on lung function exercise capacity in post‐COVID‐19 patients. Design Meta‐analysis. Methods R software 4.0.2 assessed the adopting random‐effects model presenting standardised mean differences (SMDs). Heterogeneity was determined by Cochran's Q I 2 . The Cochrane Risk Bias 2.0 MINORS evaluated quality included studies. Data Sources A comprehensive search undertaken Cochrane, Embase, Ovid‐MEDLINE, Scopus, NCBI SARS‐CoV‐2 Resources, ProQuest, Web Science CINAHL until March 2022. Results Of 5703 identified studies, 12 articles with 596 patients were included. Eleven our twelve studies had moderate to high one study risk bias RoB tool. Overall, effective improving forced expiratory volume 1 s (1.14; 95%CI 0.39–1.18), vital (0.98; 0.39–1.56), total (0.83; 0.22–1.44), 6‐minute walk distance (1.56; 1.10–2.02) life (0.99; 0.38–1.60). However, no significant observed for ratio lungs, anxiety depression. Respiratory those without comorbidities, performed four types programs, frequency ≥3 times/week time 6 weeks. Conclusions improved function, findings suggest programs should use multiple times per week longer than Impact These will help improve implementation Implications profession Our can be used develop patient‐centred interventions nurses clinicians Reporting Method PRISMA guideline followed.
