The negative effects of shift work on oxidant-antioxidant balance are known, but its impact dietary total antioxidant capacity (dTAC) is less studied. This cross-sectional study investigated dTAC among nurses rotating schedules N = 44). Dietary intake antioxidants – carotenoids, ascorbic acid, tocopherols, and flavonoids was assessed using seven consecutive 24-hour recalls. estimated four methods: oxygen radical absorption (ORAC), Trolox equivalent (TEAC), trapping parameter (TRAP), ferric reducing potential (FRAP). Sleep quality chronotype were the Pittsburgh Quality Index Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire, respectively. Findings indicated a significant elevation in during night shifts (p < 0.05), driven by increased tea consumption, despite reduced fruit legume intake. These findings highlight importance low-calorie, antioxidant-rich food such as vegetables, fruits, legumes to enhance flavonoid levels workers.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is defined as a chronic syndrome characterized by diffuse musculoskeletal pain, associated with characteristic signs and symptoms such fatigue and/or sleep mood disorders, whose etiology, pathogenesis prognosis may or not be known. There growing evidence of manual therapy treatment for pain in the short medium term, also patients affected FM. However, heterogeneity treatments administered are very common clinical practice, they based more on judgment tendency physiotherapist, rather than clear scientific evidence. Therefore, aim present study protocol will to determine which approach effective addressing health status improving (sensory, cognitive, emotional social)

Fibromyalgia (FM) is often accompanied by chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). It a poorly understood disorder that mainly affects women and leads to pain, fatigue, insomnia, among other symptoms, which decrease quality of life. Due the inefficiency current pharmacological treatments, increasing interest being directed towards non-pharmacological multicomponent therapies. However, nutrition chronobiology are overlooked when developing This narrative critical review explore relevance nutritional chronobiological strategies in therapeutic management FM often-associated CFS. Reviewed literature offers scientific evidence for association dietary habits, nutrient levels, body composition, gut microbiota imbalance, alterations, their interrelation with development severity symptoms. highlights key role as relevant indispensable components multidisciplinary approach

Aims A new approach to a healthy diet is the assessment of dietary Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC). The aim this study was assess TAC among Moroccan Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients and identify main food sources contributing total antioxidant capacity intake. Methods 254 with T2DM included in study. usual intakes were assessed by means validated frequency questionnaire. estimated using published databases content foods measured FRAP (ferric ion reducing potential) method. Results mean (SD) studied type diabetes 10.86 (3.42) mmol/day. Correlation analyses showed positive association between consumption groups, such as fruits vegetables. Tea coffee beverages (38.6%), vegetables (21.9%), cereals pulses (18.8%), fruit juices (12.4%) major relatively short list twenty items that contributed most presented an important explanation roughly 94%. These tea, coffee, broad beans, artichoke, pepper, beetroot, sweet potatoes, pomegranate, mandarin, figs, strawberry, orange juice, olives, cashew nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, dchicha white beans. Conclusions This supplies baseline data for may help elucidate which aspects eating habits behaviours require improvement provide opportunity develop guidelines part nutritional management.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the potential roles of proprotein convertase subtilisin/ kexin type 9 (PCSK9) and apelin in etiology fibromyalgia syndrome (FS). Patients methods: The retrospective was conducted between May 2022 February 2023. Fifty-eight female FS patients (mean age: 45.2±9.9 years; range, 25 66 years) 30 age- body mass index-matched control subjects 43.1±9.9 26 67 were included study. Apelin PCSK9 levels all individuals measured using appropriate methods. Results: (173.2±62.2 vs. 75.1±44.1, p<0.001) (354.6±195.5 229.0±83.2, significantly higher with compared group. A positive correlation found various measures, including Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ), Symptom Severity Scale (SSS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Additionally, there a FIQ, SSS, PSQI, Anxiety Inventory, BDI scores. optimal cutoff value for predicting 110.0 ng/mL, sensitivity 84.5% specificity 83.9% (area under curve [AUC]=0.920, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.852-0.987, p<0.001). For apelin, 258.8 ng/L, 63.8% 64.5% (AUC=0.732, CI: 0.623–0.840, Conclusion: Our findings suggest that may play role potentially contribute oxidative stress. Increased be compensatory response high stress, possibly leading hyperalgesia. Both can predictive markers FS.

To investigate the association between Dietary Total Antioxidant Capacity (dTAC) and of food groups (fgTAC) with sleep time Brazilian graduates participating in Cohort Universities Minas Gerais (CUME Study). This cross-sectional study analyzed 6,387 (2,052 men, 4,335 women, 35.3 ± 9.3 years old) from CUME Study. Data was collected online, dTAC obtained by Ferric Reduction Power (FRAP) method. Daily classified as short sleep, normal long (≤6, 7-8, ≥9 h, respectively). Multinomial logistic regression models were used to estimate Odds Ratio (OR) its 95% Confidence Interval (95% CI) quartiles fgTAC. Lower odds observed for third quartile fourth fgTAC fruits, beans, lentils, vegetables oils fats. Higher teas coffees. For inverse associations oilseeds artificial juices sodas. We cannot independently assert an higher time. In turn, show importance matrix that antioxidants are inserted, requiring longitudinal studies observe direction associations.
