New paleobotanical data from the Puntudo Chico Formation (uppermost Cretaceous), Chubut Province, Argentin

The Puntudo Chico Formation is a continental unit cropping out in central and northern region of the Chubut Province Argentina. It one units that overlays Group its age currently regarded as Campanian to lower Maastrichtian. previously reported paleontological content this essentially consist silicified conifer trunks Podocarpoxylon mazzonii , Agathoxylon antarcticum Brachyoxylon sp. cf. B. currumilii (reported from El Quiosco locality), palms dicot Aextoxicoxylon kawasianum identified at Estancia María de las Nieves locality. In contribution, new woods are latter most abundant taxon locality, Quiosco. A second Cupressinoxylon austrocedroides Nishida, representing first record genus for unit. Finally, third wood type recognized, which can be separated other two taxa here identified, but given deficient preservation remains with unclear taxonomic placement. shared presence P. C. Danian ( i.e ., Salamanca Formation) discussed.
