significant
socioeconomic
impacts
on
smallholder
pig
farms.

systematic
review
was
conducted
to
compile
the
types
of
reproductive
failures
and
their
underlying
causes
reported
in
farms
from
East
Southeast
Asia
identify
relevant
knowledge
gaps.

Meta-Analyses

Streptococcus
suis

common
germ

pig
populations,

carrier

pathogen,

study
reviewed
data
from
infectious
diseases
tertiary
hospital
Bucharest
between
2001
and
2024,
including
eight
patients
diagnosed
invasive
infection.

age
was
53.3
years,
male-to-female
ratio

had
risk
factors

pigs
or
handling
fresh
pork.

were
initially
meningitis

endocarditis.

Abstract
Pig
manure
(PM)
is
crucial
for
animal
protein
production,
especially
in
Brazil,
where
pork
widely
consumed.
However,
managing
waste
remains
a
challenge.
While
PM
serves
as
soil
amendment,
it
may
also
introduce
potentially
toxic
elements
(PTEs),
such
heavy
metals,
into
agricultural
soils.
Few
studies
address
the
impact
of
long-term
application
on
availability
these
metals
at
various
depths.
This
study
analysed
copper
(Cu),
zinc
(Zn),
iron
(Fe),
manganese
(Mn),
cadmium
(Cd),
and
lead
(Pb)
soils
with
prolonged
use
Florestal
(FL),
Pará
de
Minas
(PDM),
São
José
da
Varginha
(SJV),
Brazil.
Samples
were
collected
from
six
depths
using
Mehlich-1
method,

biosecurity
practices
implemented
on
pig
farms
in
Hong
Kong
and
determine
between-farm
prevalence
economically
important
viral
pathogens.
