Seafood safety is a critical requirement for sustained global quantitative and qualitative development. In recent years, unintended poisons have damaged human health food quality. Heavy metals (HMs) distribution, speciation, bioaccumulation, toxicity evaluation in aquatic settings are at their peak. The emission of nutrients and pesticides from agricultural soils endangers natural habitats. Here, we review to which extent carbon-rich organic amendments help retain in reduce the contamination surrounding areas groundwater. We compare straw, compost, biochar see whether outperforms other two more traditional cheaper materials. present a list criteria evaluate suitability materials be used as soil discuss differences elemental compositions understand, how microorganisms utilize those their effects on physical chemical characteristics, microbial communities, well transformation retention detail. It becomes clear that for all three can vary greatly depending numerous aspects, such type soil, application rate, production procedure material. Biochar is most effective increasing sorption capacity but does not outperform straw compost with regards aspects investigated. Studying heavy metal adsorption on soil is important for understanding the fate of metals and properly assessing related environmental risks. Existing experimental methods traditional models quantifying adsorption, however, are time-consuming ineffective. In this study, we developed machine learning six (Cd(II), Cr(VI), Cu(II), Pb(II), Ni(II), Zn(II)) using 4420 data points (1105 soils) extracted from 150 journal articles. After a comprehensive comparison, our results showed that gradient boosting decision tree had best performance combined model based all data. The Shapley additive explanation method was used to identify feature importance effects these features which independent were achieve better than model. Using models, global distribution capacities soils predicted with known properties. Reversed including one also built same sets predict concentration in water when adsorbed amount soil/sediment.
