Heavy metal toxicity in water is a serious problem that may have harmful effects on human health and the ecosystem. Lead [Pb(II)] cadmium [Cd(II)] are two such heavy ions, present water, whose severity well-known well-studied. In current research, magnetic biochar composite (MBC) studied as an adsorbent material for effective removal of lead ions from solutions. Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles pine-needle-derived ultrasonicated were used different weight ratios to prepare APTES (3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane)-functionalized MBC (FMBC). An average crystalline size ~10 nm magnetite NPs was obtained via XRD analysis. The adsorption characteristics both Pb(II) Cd(II) investigated batch experiment. The review aimed to identify differences and similarities in the adsorption process of five azo dyes [congo red (CR), reactive black 5 (RB5), methyl orange (MO), II (OII), (MR)] on natural materials, biosorbents, industrial agricultural waste, or biomass, which are alternatives costly activated carbon locally available. were characterized compared based their molecular structure weight, water solubility, acid dissociation constant, n-octanol-water partition coefficient, maximum absorbance. RB5 CR diazo dyes, whereas MO, OII, MR mono-azo dyes. anionic is an dye, direct dye. CR, RB5, MR, OII molecules contain one more sulfonate functional group(s), but does not. We performed a literature following parameters: initial dye concentration, adsorbent dosage, pH, temperature, isotherm, kinetic models, thermodynamic parameters, synergetic competitive interactions. tended adsorb best acidic medium at higher temperatures. concentration dosage studies indicated importance using appropriate amount for effective removal. follow Langmuir isotherm pseudo-second-order model. Most processes endothermic spontaneous, leading increase randomness solid-liquid interface. These results indicate between Relevant mechanisms assumed be electrostatic forces, hydrogen bonding, π–π interactions, among others. The incidence of water pollution in developing countries is high due to the lack regulatory policies and laws that protect bodies from anthropogenic activities industrial wastewater. Industrial wastewater contains significant amounts heavy metals are detrimental human health, aquatic organisms, ecosystem. focus this review was evaluate sources treatment methods wastewater, with an emphasis on technologies, advantages, disadvantages, innovation. It observed conventional (such as flotation, coagulation/flocculation, adsorption) had shown promising results but posed certain limitations, such generation volumes sludge, relatively low removal rates, inefficiency treating metal concentrations, sensitivity varying pH. Recent technologies like nanotechnology, photocatalysis, electrochemical coagulation have advantages over for removing metals, including higher improved energy efficiency, greater selectivity specific contaminants. However, costs associated these advanced remain a major drawback. Therefore, we recommend future developments technology reducing both waste generation.
