Purpose: This study aims to explore the factors influencing Generation Z’s decision pursue a career as freelancers, particularly focusing on student workers. The research seeks understand reasons behind their choices and assess readiness for freelancing path.Method: employs descriptive quantitative design, utilizing survey method. population consists of 45 respondents working freelancers at PT Melia Sehat Sejahtera in Jakarta. Data collection was conducted through questionnaire adapted from Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ). data were analyzed using simple calculations with Likert scoring.Findings: results indicate that Z prioritizes immediacy decisions, viewing practical solution current challenges personal choice aligned individual needs preferences. findings highlight importance flexibility independence readiness.Novelty: contributes limited literature choices, freelancing, by providing empirical insights into motivations workers entering freelance market.Implications: have implications development programs policy-makers, offering valuable information creating strategies support transition careers. Understanding these is crucial developing training resources enhance preparedness.
